This 1966 Pontiac GTO has a Tri-Power 389ci V8 and 4-speed manual. It was originally equipped from the factory with a 4bbl engine (PHS Documents Included), however the tripower engine in it is from 1966. The current owner has had the car since 2002. The previous owner had the engine and transmission rebuilt at a cost of $6,800 in 2001. The current owner spent spent $40k on the car in 2005, including a $15k repaint in the original Montero Red. Other work included installing new carpets, seat upholstery, trunk liner, shocks, bushings, an MSD ignition, and aftermarket headers. Powered features include the top, steering, and brakes. This GTO is sold with records of the refurbishment, PHS documentation, and a clean Illinois title in the owner's name. Interior work performed in 2005 consisted of adding new upholstery, carpets, and trunk liner material. Modifications include a Hurst shifter, a vintage Motorola Solid State 8-Track player, and a Pontiac-branded vacuum gauge mounted on the center console. New shocks, suspension bushings, and wheel bearings were installed in 2005. This past year the car has received a new top, new top hydraulics and a new rear engine seal. The car shows a bit under 47,000 miles, but the current owner believe it has rolled over once. All features work as they should. and the car runs and drives great. The car previously resided in California, and the California blue plate is attached in the gallery. Invoices from the restoration total more than $40k.
