Vehicle Detail

I am selling this car for my wife whose mother passed away at 94 years of age. It has been parked under her carport for the last 12 years or so without being driven. She owned it for some 25 years as the second owner. Never wrecked, in excellent shape. Has not been started, just as she left it. I assume whoever buys this car will be a professional restorer, so I have not put gas in it or tried to start it, I know there are a number of things you need to do before you even TRY to start it. (I'm 64 and have pulled many a car up out of the woods and made like new, so I know what is involved.) It was working great last time she drove it, but she just got scared to drive, wouldn't sell it because she wanted a car in the carport to deter break ins. Tires are aired up, but are old and the car would need to be towed to its new home. Some light surface rust at the front edge of the hood and few other places, but no rust-throughs detected. Had stick-on anti-ding molding on the sides, most of it has fallen off. I know whoever buys this will paint it, so it is not a big deal to clean off the adhesive left on the doors. Interior clean, no rips, but again, I assume whoever buys this will put new upholstery in. Trunk clean. Hood, engine dusty a 5.0 liter with air. Some hood insulation on right rear corner missing, rodents apparently used some for a nest many years ago. I did not detect any gnawing on wiring or any other damage. There is some crazing on red part of the rear tail lights. This is a true, little old lady only drove it to the market, church, and doctor car. She always had it maintained, so it is in about as good a shape as any you will find. There is a small quarter size dent in the drivers side of the trunk lid, it is pictured, and a couple of small dings in the forward chrome trim near the front tire. I hope it finds a good home. Because of all the cashier check scams, this is a go to the bank and get the cash deal. Of course, buy it now will require immediate payment through Pay Pal. I am not out to trick anyone, this is a great car if you are looking for one of this genre, and I have seen some real sweet redo's of this car. You will need a roll back or the like to take it away, the tires are old and I would not trust them to go far. On Jul-23-18 at 11:01:37 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: There were a couple of questions about the title, apparently Carfax lists it as having a lien. This is NOT true. We have a clear GA title in hand in my wife's name, the heir, which is easily retitled here in GA for $17. There are no back taxes owed on this car. The only lien was when her mother bought the car way back in the 90's and she paid that off years ago. One person asked about floorboard rust. I did not look for that because there was no reason to look. It has been carport kept for its life, driven little and the original carpets are still there. The only rust I saw is in one of the pictures, a light dusting of surface rust at the front edges, top corner, of the hood. Some have asked what we wanted for the car. I have tried to respond to these but somehow I am blocked. But what I was trying to say is that we were looking at a high price of about $8,500 based on my research of what cars in this condition have been going for, but the least I would take was the $3,500 start price. So now it is up to the bidders to decide what they think it is worth to them since we have the minimum already bid. If you are looking for a MC to restore, this is a great one, solid and well kept and very clean. On Jul-23-18 at 13:00:35 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 2 Someone asked about the floorboards so I went out and looked at them and as expected, they are solid, no rust through anywhere. Some surface rust where the undercoating may have been scuffed off in the past, but no rust from leaks which rusted out the pan, which is what I think you are asking about. The unpainted iron parts on the underside are surface rusted, as you would expect, but the parts are all solid. Also went around the quarter panels and door bottoms, did not find any rust through spots there either.
