1981 Honda ATC250R

This three wheeler is located in Poy Sippi, WI.  You or your shipper can pick it up here.  Sometime in the next month or two, I will be driving to Colorado Springs, CO.  I am not yet sure of the exact timing of my trip - if you are in a hurry, plan on shipping the ATC or picking it up yourself.  I can vary my route within reason, along I-70, I-80, or I-90.  If you can meet me near the interstate, on my time schedule, I will deliver the ATC to you for $200.  This should be substantially cheaper than most shipping options.  I will expect the machine to be paid for in full in accordance with my “terms of sale” paragraph below.  If you have any questions about this or intend to have me deliver the ATC, please get in touch with me BEFORE placing your bid.  Thank you! Here is a 1981 Honda ATC 250R in very nice original condition - these are the original seat and plastics, all in great shape!  This is the first year for the infamous ATC250R, and was Honda’s first performance three wheeler.  It was the first model with a disc brake and the first model to have any sort of suspension.  It has a 250cc 2 stroke engine, 5 speed transmission with manual clutch, front disc brake, and full suspension front and rear.  It has always been stored indoors and starts, runs, and rides exactly like when it was new!  This ATC is completely stock with no modifications. I took these photos on 7-7-18, they are unedited and the ATC is how you see it in the pictures.  The machine was simply washed and allowed to dry before the photos were taken - there were no "spit-shine" sprays applied (to the tires or anywhere else) to make it look better than it really is.  Also, nothing has been painted or touched-up, everything you see is the original finish. I am the third owner, and this 250R was obviously well cared for by all 3.  It has not been raced, nor has it been ridden by children.  In my opinion, it is in amazing condition for an original, unrestored racing model three wheeler.  Sure, you can still find nice little 110’s and nice Big Red models, but most of these high performance machines were run hard, modified, and consequently didn’t survive as well. Starts easily, idles well, runs perfectly (it's a Honda!).  No funny noises. Shifts nicely, rides nicely, etc. Looks pretty darn good, too. Absolutely no rust in the fuel tank, just clean shiny metal.  The carburetor is clean and responsive, has never seen ethanol fuel. Original exhaust is 100% intact, unmolested, and has no rust.  All three Carlisle tires are in great condition - full tread, no dry rot or weather-checking.  The wheels are clean and not scratched/rusty from scraping on rocks or sloppy tire changes.  There are NO LEAKS - the engine doesn't leak, the fork seals don't leak, no fuel leaks, etc. Everything works!  The headlight (both high and low beam) and the taillight work nicely.  Same with the parking brake, etc.  Overall this is just a very nice example of Honda's ATC 250R. Flaws:  there are surprisingly few flaws to mention.  There are of course some light scratches on the plastics, but no cracks or major imperfections.  There are two small splits in the rear of the seat, each less than 1/2” long (the original seat cover is still soft and pliable, not hard or brittle), and the rear grab rail has some marks in the chrome. Included with the ATC are the original service manual and the factory tool kit.  The state of Wisconsin does not title ATVs. If you have any questions, please ask them prior to placing your bid.
