Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here is a 1983 Honda CR60R. For those of you that know about these dirt bikes they are very rare. Starts right up and runs good, takes a little while to warm up. When you hit the throttle its crazy how much power this little 60 has, it will pull the front tire right up with a grown man on it in first or second gear. I recently cleaned the carb and took it for a little run down the block, shifted well through all six gears. Brakes seem to work good as well. I bought this for my kids 3 years ago, however; it was their first bike and it was way too much for them. They never got it out of 1st gear. I ride snowmobiles in the mountains and this little bike scares me more than riding out west. It flat out rips!! It starts well and is very loud, it appears to have the stock muffler. The bike appears to be all original. It’s in good shape but is 35 years old so it’s not in showroom condition. The handle bars have a little tweak in them, but it does not affect the drivability in any way. Also, the plastic knob for the choke on the carburetor is missing, a paper clip is on it and works just fine. The seat has a couple small cuts but is still very functional and in good shape. These are very sought-after collector bikes. No title for this as it’s a competition bike and never had one..........it will be sold with a bill of sale. Local pick-up only. I will assist in pick-up if you arrange for it. A rare opportunity at buying a classic example of the 1983 Honda Cr60r. Honda only made the bike in the U.S. in 1983 and 1984. Approximately 3700 of the bike were produced during this two-year span. Most of them were raced hard or ridden through the neighbor's fence, so not many survived. "Today, the Honda CR60R remains a collector’s item and interesting footnote from one of Honda’s greatest eras. At a time when it seemed like Big Red could do no wrong, they packed up their toys and went home. With a new bike developed and ready to go (and very good, according to Honda CR60R development rider Jimmy Button), Honda chose to quit rather than fight. It was an odd end, for one of the coolest mini racers of the 1980’s. Feel free to text or call at 612-369-3772 with any questions.
