A stunning and beautiful 2002 Mazda Miata Special Edition (SE) with 25,503 original miles with ONLY 1 Owner since new. For those who follow my auctions, you'll know I only buy the best when it comes to desireable classic cars both modern and vintage. For me, my favorites are the vehicles with super low original miles and if they have only had one owner, that is such a bonus. These cars are very unique in the used car markets. They are almost always cars and trucks that have been very well cared for, used for special occassions and maintained to make that special occassion exactly that, problem free and special. This Miata SE is exactly one of those really cool cars and quite rare as well. Rare for two distinct reasons, quantity of their build, the number of these were very limited, especially the Blazing Yellow Mica at only 1000 compared to the Titanium at 1491. Total Miata production that year was 13,780. But I would presume that even more rare than the production numbers, would be finding one 16 years later that was only owned by one person and driven just over twenty five thousand miles during that time. Not to mention never wrecked, all original paint and beauitfully kept as this one is. What are the odds of that? In 2002 the Titanium and the Blazing Yellow special editions were the first time Mazda produced two different colors for their SE cars. When you think of Special Edition cars, I tend to think flashy and well equipped. This Blazing Yellow with its metallic finish paint, sparkles in the sun. Mazda used a great name to describe this paint color when they called it "Blazing". In direct sun, it does exactly that. The black accents of the convertible top and the black leather interior could not be a better match either. The Special Edition cars came with all the options available on the LS models plus the Leather Wrapped Nardi steering wheel, the special embroider seats and floor mats. The Torsen Limited Slip rear end and the 16" Enkei Alloy Wheels. Inside the the white faced gauges gave the SE a special appearance as well. The history that we know of with this 2002 Mazda Miata Special Edition (SE) is pretty simple. We buy most of our exceptional classics modern cars and trucks at small dealer trade in specialty auctions, this one from the Carmax "Dealer Only" auction that I go to every Tuesday. Carmax has a policy that if they buy or take in trade any vehicle that is 9 years of age or older, they sell those cars and trucks at their specialty auctions all over the US. That means, no matter how nice their older trades might be and no matter how low the miles may be, they are bound by their own policies to sell those vehicles at their auctions. I love these specialty auctions because I see just how their owners traded in their cars and trucks. They are not detailed, often records and books are left in the vehicles and with a Carfax history on every car or truck, I can narrow down the cream of the crop cars and trucks. This is one of those. The best of the best as one might say. There is always a lot of great information that can be found on the clean Carfax history or Autocheck Report. This Miata was originally purchase in Nevada City, California by it's first owner back on May 04, 2002. By May of 2006, they had moved to Las Vegas where the car would remain until now. Service inspection including an A/C repair and charge were recorded on May 19, 2006 with 17,033 miles, a State Emissions Inspection on June 1, 2010 with 20,568 miles; another State Emissions Inspection on May 27, 2011 with 22,031 miles. Another State inspection on June 14, 2012 with 22.470 miles (Talk about taking this car out only on special occasions) Another State Inspection on Jun 12, 2013 with 23,833 miles. Another State inspection on June 3, 2015 with 24,324 miles. A recorded lube oil and filter service recorded on May 30th, 2016 with 24,677 miles. Another State Inspection on June 13, 2017 with 25,160 miles then just a few days before we bought the car, the original owner had it lube serviced again on April 16th, 2018 with 25,430 miles. Less than 100 miles ago. So as you can see, documented miles and ownership...just the way we like to see it. It's probably history like this that you like to see too. Then when you see the pictures of every inch of this great car, you'll probably think like I did when I saw it, "I've got to have this one!" And you can. Just bid or call me with your fair offer. Every time I buy any vehicle, I have a thorough 130pt inspection performed on the vehicle. I also lift each vehicle to do an inspection underneath on the frame/uni-body and on all mechanical aspects underneath as well. Finding a leak free vehicle is what I expected to see with the extensive service history and topside condition and that is what we have too. No seepage or leaks anywhere underneath and of course, ZERO RUST. Zero damage history or wreck history. After a full detail top to bottom, this Miata is ready to drive it's next owner cross country if you want or we can ship it as well. Take the time to look at the pictures as I take a lot of time showing every inch so you can see a near flawless interior, convertible top, body and paint with very few tiny dings or dents; all of which come with the car with no extra charge. Finding a car this good, that is extra of course. Either way, this Miata will impress the most picky buyer. Not flawless or perfect, but a 9.9 out of 10 car for sure. This 2002 Mazda Miata SE has its original owners manuals, floor mats and wheel locks. It does not have the convertible boot cover. The tires are in good condition with about half tread and probably very safe for any trip. The brakes are at least 60-70 % front and rear if not better. You will see in the pictures that the original owner did touch up a few chips on the door and there is a small ding on the driver's front fender near the wheel lip. All of these blemishes are very slight in nature and quite difficult to see even with my high resolution images. Just no glaring issues to be quite serious though.
