- 500bhp V10 S85 engine- Saphire Black with Black Interior- 7-Speed SMG Automated-Clutch Sequential Transmission- Accessory Rubber Floor Mats- Corsa Aftermarket Exhaust This car was maintained by a race prep shop in Dayton before I got it (from the second owner), and by the Ann Arbor dealer since. It has been garaged or stored in a collector warehouse. This is a fair weather car- it has seen a bit of rain. The second owner reported a repair to the trunk lid due to a bicycle handlbar mishap. I replaced the passenger side wing mirror. There is a visible ding with no paint damage on the right rear door, and a scuffed wheel. The chin is scuffed- I'd repair that, but I'll scuff it again. Otherwise the finish is in excellent condition. The interior is excellent, with some peeling of the applied matte on the steering wheel spokes. There have been no mechanical issues, and a recent battery replacement. The tires have some considerable fun left. It is stock except for track width spacers and lower springs, and a Corsa exhaust. It has heavy rubber accessory floor mats and a car cover. I have the stock parts (exept for the exhaust) and I'll throw in a battery tender. The sound this car makes is magnificent. It has does not have the heads-up display. The load-actuated seat bolsters are necessary. The SMG transmission is misunderstood, I think. Driving it properly requires full involvement with the car, and this car is fast enough that automated clutch operation and paddle shift initiation seem almost necessary. I really like driving it, and I am an experienced driver. It is definitely desirable for highway and urban driving, and absorbing to drive fast. It is remarkable that the M5 program produced BMW's flagship performance cars, designed to swallow Porsches and Ferraris, but also to have four comfortable leather seats and be as mechanically durable as they are. This car has two personalities- a somehat austere, Teutonic executive sobriety and comfort, and pure bad. The performance, engineering, and durability for the cost is pretty unique. These are very inexpensive, and the prices are likely to turn up in a few years. This is a problem-free specimen, and well priced. This car slithers around exceedingly quickly- is extremely fast, grippy, and fun to drive. It is not for everyone, as you know if you are seriously looking for one.
