Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 2009 BMW R1200GS Adventure (R1200GSA) motorcycle. I purchased the vehicle as the 2nd owner from Montgomeryville Cycle Center (Website: https://www.montgomeryvillecc.com) in Hatfield, PA, November 2015 with around 69,000 miles if I recall correctly. The dealership that I purchased the bike from is an authorized BMW motorcycle dealership and I had the BMW mechanics perform all necessary maintenance to bring the bike up to date (the previous owner kept meticulous records and had the bike serviced at the scheduled intervals by BMW mechanics). I rode the bike from Philly home to New Orleans without any issues, and on the OEM Metzeler tires. Since owning the motorcycle, it was serviced for regular maintenance at BMW Motorcycles of Baton Rouge in November of 2016 (where all regularly scheduled maintenance was performed), and at The Transportation Revolution New Orleans (2017 till present since they acquired the BMW brand and became an authorized retailer of BMW motorcycles with trained BMW technicians. The only repairs that have been necessary since I have owned this motorcycle have been a minor fuel leak from the pump seal (2018 - repaired at Transportation Revolution New Orleans), and a CEL code clearance that ended up being the result of a low voltage on the battery (battery charged up - CEL cleared, repaired at TTRNO). The left heated grip no longer gets warm, I have never had an interest in repairing it because it is 100 degrees in New Orleans with 100 percent humidity and the thought of heated grips makes me laugh, but if you live in a cold climate, you may wish to replace this piece. The fuel level reader is also slightly inaccurate, although with a full tank it displays a full signal on the dash, I've noticed that when the dash reads a half tank, its closer to a 1/4, and at a 1/4, its closer to empty. Again, not something I've cared to repair as the tank holds over 8 gallons of fuel (Adventure model) and I know how much fuel I use usually (usually). Last but not least, the ever so aggravating tire pressure monitoring sensors (these are the electronic sensors inside of the tire that alert you to low tire pressure). Since I've owned the bike, they will come on once in a while indicating low tire pressure, even if the tire pressure is perfect. They go off once you turn the bike off and restart, and only come on once in a while. I don't care and as most people that ride do, I check my tire pressure regularly so I know what my pressure is. If it aggravates you, there are TPMS sensors on eBay that you can buy and have installed, but since the alert goes off and only comes on intermittently, I've never replaced them. Other than that, the bike is perfect. Absolutely no mechanical issues, the engine and gearbox is perfect, and although the mileage is at 87xxx miles, a simple google search about this engine will reassure you that they regularly go 300k miles without an engine rebuild as long as you change the oil. I finally wore through the OEM Metzeler tires and replaced with Michelin Pilot Road 4 Trails (front/rear) a couple months ago and caught a flat on my rear tire for the first time in 20 years of riding motorcycles. The rear tire was replaced a week ago with a Shinko rear tire, so both front and rear and nearly brand new (replaced by Champion Cycle Center - Covington Louisiana) Aftermarket: The front/rear seat is Sargent aftermarket seats, much better looking and more comfortable than OEM. Also, as you can see from the pictures, there are aftermarket Xenon headlamps that will light the world up (literally blinds everyone in traffic at night, but great for visibility or low lighting conditions). The motorcycle also is set up with an additional fuel line for a reserve tank if you would like to run one. The Left, Right, and Top aluminum panniers are included with the sale, they are indispensable for anyone that plans to do any real commuting or trips with this bike. They are keyed to the ignition and lock securely closed, and to the bike itself. These containers sell for about $1500 dollars if you were to purchase separately. They can be quickly removed if you would like to slim the bike down for casual riding, but I kept them on most of the time because they are so convenient. Why I'm selling: I bought this bike because I thought I was more interesting and cool than I really am. I planned on riding into S. America and all over the world with this machine; however, the farthest I've ridden to this day is home from the dealership in Philadelphia. I just recently purchased a BMW S1000R that I can ride to and from work/gym which is all I really did with this R1200GSA. If you buy this bike, please use it to actually go somewhere, the bike has been made iconic because it is the bike of choice by people that travel across African deserts, S. American jungles, and European mountain ranges...I went to Anytime Fitness with it and commuted to work. Don't be lame like me, buy this bike and go all over the world. Check out the pictures and a video I posted on YouTube of a 360 and startup of the bike - https://youtu.be/5PECCKsh_dk I would be more than happy to ship the bike via U-Ship App, or deliver for a cost to the seller. You can drop a deposit via PayPal, but the remainder will have to be cash or certified funds. If you don't want to pay in person, the wire, check, or whatever will have to hard post to my account before the paperwork is signed over (I have the clear Louisiana title in hand). I have bought and sold a lot of cars, boats, and motorcycles on eBay (I'm not a dealer, I just buy a lot of toys that I don't need) and have a 100 percent positive rating that has been acquired over the last 20 years of using eBay. Please contact me through eBay with any questions, all buyers are welcome to have the motorcycle inspected by anyone of their choosing both before or after the sale, and if the motorcycle is not exactly as I described, they are not obligated to complete the sale and will receive their deposit back. On Jun-12-18 at 11:59:19 PDT, seller added the following information: ***UPDATE*** I AM HAVING THE BMW MOTORCYCLE DEALERSHIP IN NEW ORLEANS (TTRNO) FIX THE TPMS SENSORS (RDC SENSORS) FOR THE NEW OWNER. I refuse to sell a motorcycle to anyone with a check engine light on for a tire pressure sensor.
