Vehicle Detail

For your consideration, one 2009 Honda CBR1000RR Genuine Repsol. Had a 954 & loved it, picked up this one as a replacement aaaaaand..... it's a bit much. While there's definite, and obvious improvement over the previous generation of CBR - just the design & layout of systems shows thought was put into it, this thing is a bit too much for me, at this moment. Had it down on Skyline Drive / Blue Ridge Parkway Virginia a few weeks ago, and had an APB called out on me the very first day. & it was only a 35 mile stretch!! So, as much fun as that trip was (& it was AWESOME, get your ass down there pronto), this thing is just going to get me in too much trouble. Got this bike last year. Didn't like it at first, but with how it utterly destroyed the twisties in Virginia I was won over & it really grew on me. It's a sensational bike capable of incredible feats. Here's the hard core, head-banging, bike, ready to slay any & every road. Upgrades include: Dynojet Power Commander - $340 Two Brothers M-2 Carbon Fiber Exhaust - $505 Xenon HID Headlights - $100 (parts only, not installation) Hotbodies Undertail - $130 WPS Featherweight Lithium Battery - $140 Available for in person show & inspection with advance appointment. Kelly Blue Book value is $7,500, and this bike has over $1,000 is modifications. Reserve price is significantly lower than the buy it now, but if you don't want to risk the auction running over, push the buy it now, and get to riding. The season's short. Test rides with full asking price cash in my hand. As-Is, Where-Is, Final Sale, No Refunds or Returns. Can deliver locally within 50 miles for $100, there will be a toll surcharge if I have to cross any rivers, variable depending on which bridge, then $1 for each mile after that up to 150 miles maximum. Must be paid in advance, and is additional to the sale price of this motorcycle. Another cool thing about this bike are the supplemental LEDs. In addition to the orange cats-eye, the headlights have outline LEDs, there are white strips behind the fairings illuminating the engine, and there is a red strip installed under the tail, which illuminates the rear wheel & swingarm when the brakes are engaged. All work together for very cool (& understated) effect, with the rear brake LED having the additional benefit of improving visibility & safety. A feature I will likely include on all current & future motorcycles. The updated pictures don't really do the supplemental lighting justice. It all looks great in person. The uploaded night pictures illustrate the rear with the brake engaged, & off. In the final 2 pictures, you can see what it looks like with the brakes on & off. The more perceptive may have noticed the parachute cord on the frame, below the fuel tank, and be wondering why it's there. Those are tie-down loops to secure a backpack - mine has a carabiner for ease of securement & detachment. I've been running my bikes with this for years, and it greatly enhances the capability. Want to head on down to the beach with your chick (or lake, depending on where this bike winds up)? Pack up everything you need in a backpack & secure it to the tank. Good for weekends, grocery shopping, whatever. Additionally, there is an adjustable luggage strap in the rear compartment, secured to the frame. Same concept, but should really only be used in conjunction with bungees as it likely isn't enough to retain packages. Ride Quality & Brakes 4 out of 5 On track, the nimble, but stable Blade handles a lot like the RC212V MotoGP machine it's styled to look like. The suspension is plush and soaks up bumps on the road nicely, while giving lots of support and control on the circuit. On the standard model the brakes have lots of feel and power, but the C-ABS model takes the braking to a whole new level. The ABS system stops the wheels locking in an emergency, but unlike more crude mechanical systems, there's no pulsing at the lever, just smooth constant braking pressure. In normal conditions, if you only use the front brake, the system will apply a small amount of rear brake to keep the machine flatter, which increases stability on the way into a corner. Engine 5 out of 5 It might not make the ultimate power of its 1000cc rivals, but the magic of the Honda Fireblade is its grunt and searing acceleration. The Honda's gem-like 163bhp in-line-four-cylinder 999.8cc motor is capable of powering the Blade to the naughty side of 180mph, but more impressively it can do 150mph in a quarter of a mile. The power is easy to use, all the way through the rev-range and the throttle response perfect. This is one of the all-time great engines. Build Quality & Reliability 5 out of 5 Honda invented the words 'quality' and 'reliable'. The Honda Fireblade is the machine against which the competition is judged when it comes to build-quality. The paint is swimming pool-deep and all the controls are solid and operate with an oily perfection. Insurance, running costs & value 5 out of 5 Spending just over £9000 isn't a lot to pay for a class-leading machine. The Blade has cost around nine grand since time began but that hasn't stopped it getting better and better over the years. Shelling out £1000 for the C-ABS is a lot, but it's a superb system that doesn't detract from the riding pleasure and might one day save your skin. Find a Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade for sale. Insurance group: 17 of 17 - compare motorcycle insurance quotes now. Equipment 4 out of 5 The Blade comes with every bell and whistle you need for fast riding. As well as the amazing C-ABS system; it has fully-adjustable suspension, radial brakes, a slipper clutch and an exhaust valve. The only thing missing from its armoury is traction control like you'll find on the Ducati Streetfighter, Ducati 1198S and 1098R. Compare and buy products for the Honda Fireblade in the MCN Shop.
