Vehicle Detail

LOW RESERVE!!!! Vin: CJ2A98890 ACM#: 89174 Restored (2012) numbers matching Willys Jeep CJ2A. The tub is in incredible condition and has the telltale notch in the passenger floor board, just in front of the other mark of originality, the JEEP script stamped on the passenger side tool box. Rear seat not original - I believe it is from a CJ5 if I am not mistaken. Front seats are correct and believed to be the original. There is no soft top. The original tailgate with matching stamped ACM number was unfortunately stolen while in transit from AZ to me in CT this past winter. The one on there now works fine and functions as it should....its a tailgate so....Making up for that unfortunate loss is the fun feature of having a Supersonic head, which is said to give an additional 5 horse power due to a compression increase! No, its not much, but it is a fun feature that many Jeep enthusiasts would consider a tasteful upgrade. Another cool feature is the heater under the dash. This CJ2A is known to have only ever lived in the dry climate of Arizona, the state from which it was titled from which it retains said title. (clean and clear) The jeep runs, drives and stops perfectly. It starts right up and does not smoke. Choke works as it should. Since I bought it less than a year ago, I had my shop install a new master brake cylinder and wheel cylinders, thermostat, new battery, new floor mounted starter switch, and other misc. small bits (latches, wood hood blocks, etc...) that were missing when I took ownership of it. I also had the original alternator rebuilt about a month ago and it functions flawlessly. All it still needs is windshield glass. I never have the windshield up so I never got around to it, but if you did want to put new glass in it, it is a very easy and cheap job. Not included in this auction, but for sale separately is a hardtop and doors ($300) and a restored and complete Meyer's plow set up ($800). I will post pictures asap for both. The plow is complete and restored original Meyer’s type plow designed for the CJ-2A, which mounts to the jeep without cutting or drilling. To be clear - The top and plow are NOT included in this auction. My intention was to have a fun and functional jeep to cruise around town in and plow my small driveway in the winter. I was never able to enjoy it as a plow vehicle, but have enjoyed countless rides with my children around the yard and into town since taking ownership in February. Selling to focus on an Austin Healey project that has gone over budget. This CJ-2A basically only needs windshield glass to make complete. Other than that, she is a fun old girl with lots of miles and fun to be had with her. She is reliable, fast (for a jeep without OD), powerful, and safe. The only thing on this Jeep left up for debate is the paint. Some love it and some would say it needs a clear over it. I say leave it. Its actually one of the reasons why I bought it...because I love the paint. Just to be clear, there is no rust / rot anywhere on this Jeep. The paint is the way it is because after restoration it was kept outdoors for some time in the AZ sun, which beat the snot out of the anti-oxidant properties of the paint, so now it has this drab gray, soft to the touch, patina look that I love and would never change - personally. Whatever floats your boat really. Either way...leave the paint as is and run it for the next 20 years, or take her apart and re-paint the body, you're getting a great deal here. Even the hat channels underneath are in beautiful shape!!! The restoration has been done, and the only reason it is not listed for the big money like the other 2As are getting on here is because the past owner in AZ liked what the sun was doing to his finish. And, again it is a personal preference issue that may not be for everyone, so someone is really going to get some good bang for their buck when you look at current CJ2A prices!!!To add to that, if you DID want to break her down and re-spray her, that too is a very easy and cheap process as these things were basically painted originally with rollers. A well done garage rattle can job or even a budget spray job would be better than what came from the factory, so to me its a no brainer. Enjoy as is or spend some time with your kid(s) this summer doing a re-spray out in the garage with the music and beer flowing. Either way its your gain, my loss. I've got another project that needs money now. Anything under $10K for this Jeep is a steal in my book, unfortunately....that too is just an opinion, and you know what they say about those ;-)Good luck, and happy bidding. Next time this year you'll be in your town's Memorial Day parade with a veteran riding shotgun knowing you made a good buy!More pictures coming. - No warranty - Buyer gets BOS + AZ Title - Buyer handles shipping - Top and Plow not included, but can be negotiated during pick-up or any time there after - Full payment within 7days of auction close - Pick up within 3 weeks of auction close from ZIP CODE - 06824 On May-22-18 at 19:14:40 PDT, seller added the following information: For those who don't know, the seat covers are removable and can be washed. Sorry they look a little dirty in the pics.
