Vehicle Detail
Recently purchased this car at the Mecum auction in Houston on 4/5/2018 (Lot T249). Per documentation with the car (pictured), the engine and carbs were rebuilt in 2017, the fuel tank & sending unit were recently replaced and the car was painted in 2017. Also, the carpet kit and tires are new. Driving the car home from the Mecum auction I found that the windshield wipers did not work and the wiper motor became hot to the touch. I disconnected power and purchased a new wiper motor from Victoria British LTD. The wiper motor installation is above my expertise level so it's still new in the box (included with sale). There is not a convertible top with the car however a tonneau cover is included. The car needs some cosmetic work including the removal of paint overspray from door latches, muffler, horns etc. and the rings around the gauge bezels show pitting (pictured). Also needs minor repairs such as vent-window hinge replacement, handbrake adjustment and installation of battery mounting brackets. Some of the rubber weatherstripping on the car is missing or needs to be replaced including around the trunk lid and on both doors. I did not look over the car before it crossed the auction block and I'm selling it because I do not need another project right now. Includes two service manuals and a brand new MGB electrical service manual. Odometer reads 00855, obviously not original miles. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. I had the car listed on eBay 2.5 weeks ago and cancelled the auction when I discovered that I had to register the car in my name prior to transferring the title when sold (I did not want to sell the car until I had the new title). I just received the new title from The State of Texas on May 10th and I'm re-listing the car now.
