Vehicle Detail

1982 Honda CB900F. Non op from DMV. Clear title in my name. It has been sitting for years. I bought this bike several years ago as a non-running bike. It had been sitting. I am a sucker for a project and in the past I have bought many bikes like this and fixed them and played with them a while, and then sold them. The challenge of a project for me has been a fun one. I have had this on my lift for many years. It had been sitting when I bought it. Originally had a full fairing Hondaline fairing on it. Took it off, sold it and converted to a naked front end like most that were sold back in the day. I cannot remember all I did to this bike. The seat on it was a Corbin and was sun-baked. It also came with a stock seat. I rebuilt the carburetors as they were badly gummed up. I rebuilt the brakes front and rear. Did a lot of cosmetic work on the bike. The tach speedo combo is off of a Honda 750F as the 900 set only has a speedo that goes to 85 MPH. This one reads to 150 MPH. Chain is new, fork seals are new. Stock carbs and air box. When I got it running, it ran like new. It is a very fast bike. I was not sure what shape the top end was in when I bought it, so I bought a complete cylinder set off of eBay with 9K miles on it. It was carefully removed and pistons numbered for reassembly. It is in great shape. I never used it. Once I got the bike running, it ran just fine. I just saved it in case I needed it someday. I have another box with a lot of “F” parts. It goes with the bike. All electrical works perfectly. Lights, turn signals, everything...The mileage is not verified. When I got the bike running, I rode it from here in Citrus Heights to the Corbin factory in Hollister, spent the day, had them re-do the seat for me. It is perfect. It was about a 350 mile round trip. Bike ran like a beast. Rode it some afterward and it needs the carbs cleaned again, and the gas tank properly cleaned out. I parked it about 5 years ago. Battery is long dead now and the carbs and tank will need a good proper cleaning in order to run as before. It is a great project if you are handy with a wrench. Somewhere I have a complete set of reproduction decals I paid 200 dollars for. I was going to finish it, have it painted silver and have the decals applied. If, and I say, IF I can find the decals I will include them. I am nearing retirement age and I have family members who have passed recently and I have too much stuff and too much to do and I will never get back to this. The bike has a solid foundation to work from. I have far more money into this bike and countless hours making things good again. All the hard work is done. Front tire is new but does not hold air for long. It’s a cheap tire. I would just replace it. Ask any questions via email. Shipping and transport is your responsibility I have no time for flakes. If you have read this far, thank you for taking the time to do so. I am in Citrus Heights near Greenback and 80. Bring a trailer, some cash and take it home. Mike
