For sale by private seller is a stunning collector quality 1979 Mercedes Benz 450SL. I am the second owner of this car and have cherished it. I bought her 8 years ago off a gentleman that had a collection of vintage cars worth a small fortune in his hangar next to his plane. This car needs nothing except another loving owner! I will try my best to list as many important things that I can think of, but please let the pictures do most of the talking. When you slip in and fire up the roaring 4.5L V8 and put the top down, you will think it's 1979 again! Clear title, and clearly has never been in an accident. Very, very minor rock chips on the chrome bumper. I consider the paint a 10/10. It was repainted once in 2005 by the P.O. with a high end paint job. From what I remember he said it cost around $7,000. Both tops look perfect. Soft top is original. This car will likely be the most dependable classic you'll ever own. She starts right up without any hesitation with the mechanical fuel injection and pumps in perfect tune. Lots of original parts have been replaced for good measures in the past 5 years and 20K miles including brake master cylinder & calipers, fuel pumps, cooling system including new radiator and water pump, timing chain service, alternator, AC compressor and condenser, new shock dampers and other front end parts . All of these parts have less than 20,000 miles on them. I maintained this car with an open checkbook. Again, I can't stress enough how perfectly this car runs and drives. The engine sounds fantastic to boot. The interior is likewise in fabulous shape with recently refreshed seat bottoms and redone hardtop headliner. There are no cracks in the dash or wood/trims.
