Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 64 Impala Non SS, Impala Convertible. Factory matching numbers 327, 4 speed Muncie M20 trans. This is my personal car from my personal collection. Please read the entire ad before asking questions. I'm adding everything I know about the car in this ad.Color is the factory Daytona blue, with factory light blue interior. Matching cowl tag and Vin# I have owned this car for 22 years, and it has never failed me. Very solid never restored car, one repaint over 30 yrs old. This would be a great candidate to restore, or just drive it like it is, as I have been doing for 22 years. Very straight never hit car, with some minor rust repair needed. Rockers each have one spot that needs a patch welded in, the panel needed for this is available from Ecklers for $100. This area is just below the end of the door, not the whole rocker panel. I have included photos of the areas that need repair. The trunk has one area on the drivers side that is a little thin, there is a panel available for this area too. The frame, floors, floor supports, and body mounts are all very solid with NO rust through at all. The interior is all original, as is the conv top. Plain Jane bench seat Impala's are pretty rare with the 4 speed Muncie floor shift. Yes, this is a factory option back in 64.The 327 engine runs like a top, with NO smoke, or other problems at all. The trans shifts just like it should, no problems at all. Rear diff is non posi, but I'm not sure about the ratio. All new brakes all around last year. Everything was replaced including the soft lines up front. The drums were perfect, so no need to replace them. The car runs very nicely, great sound with the flowmaster exhaust.Only 78K original miles, it still has the oil change stickers on the inside of the door jam going back to 18K miles. I left them there as proof of the mileage. I carefully peeled them back as far as 18K, but there are still some underneath that I didn't want to damage, so does go back to less than 18K miles. This car has never failed on me, or left me stranded, ever. 327 runs like a top, and purrs like a kitten. Starts right up after being stored for the winter, with NO smoke or motor noises at all. Just prime the carb, and she fires right off after storage. Priming is only required if the car sit for a long period of time.I have links to some video I have taken of the car, and can send the links to you if requested. Photos are current, taken last fall, and some are taken in Feb 2018. The photos with the original hubcaps are older ones. All matching numbers drivetrain, the only thing replaced by me was the alternator, the full exhaust, the rear shocks and springs. The padded dash is in amazing condition, NO cracks or anything like that. Car runs and drives very nice, engine and trans are smooth, new brakes all around. The interior is all original with the only exception being the lower door panels that were recovered years ago. They do match the original color quite well. Here's a list of what I know about the car, pros and cons.Pro's LOW mileage survivor Car (78K) (one older repaint) Never hit very straight body Runs and drives GREAT Mostly original except for wheels, tires, exhaust+paint Original 327, and 4 speed factory Muncie M20 Trim tag confirms M20 factory trans Original interior and top Original chrome and trim in good shape Easily passed NH inspection in Sept New drum brakes all around last yr Excellent driver car AS it IS Perfect candidate for full restoration 327 (250HP) purrs like a kitten Four barrel carb 4 speed Muncie shifts perfectly Original AM radio with Reverb Excellent floors, VERY solid All good solid floor supports Nice body gaps, doors shut with one finger, no sag Easy to work on, parts are readily available Drives nice and straight down the hwy Good power from the 327 NO smoke, always starts right up Exhaust replaced from factory manifolds back with Flowmaster mufflers Rear springs replaced Rear shocks replaced good original radiator newer alternator, I have the old one if desired Hood is nice and straight Original power top works as it should Very solid rockers in and out, with 2 small areas need repair mentioned above Factory top boot included Factory rims and hubcaps included T3 headlights, all but one Electrical all in good con, everything works except for the clock. All stainless in nice cond All trim is very decent All gauges work as new, except clock Aftermarket gauge pod w/ new oil temp gauge I have owned this car for 22 years. Heater core does not leak, all the heat functions work as they should. All the glass is in very nice condition, all the windows roll up and down as they should There are no scrapes or damage to any of the glass at all The ONLY reason I am selling is that I bought another 64 ragtop, and have run out of room to keep them all, as I have other collectable cars as well Needs Trunk needs repair on drivers side top pan it's a little thin in one spot. A panel for this area is available online for $100 The rust in the trunk pic is surface rust from the factory trunk mats, they were notorious for trapping moisture, and causing this. The trunk is very solid overall, just that one thin panel. Trunk spare tire well has previous repair, very solid, just not stock. Rocker panels need repair near the end of the door, passenger side spot is about 6 inches That side needs the replacement panel This is the worst part of the entire carDrivers side is not that bad, 2-3" areaAftermarket panel available for that exact area for $100 per side. Small scrape in drivers fender 2-3 inches Paint scrape on passenger fender when I scraped the garage door trim. Under hood lip needs minor repair, NOT on the top layer, it's only on the underside layer. A couple of side trim and trunk trim pieces have small dings Trunk and hood lip emblems are showing age Cragar rims have some rust on them. Carpets are all original and need replacing. There is one small tear in the back of the drivers seat, all the rest of the seats are in very good condition. The paint is over 30 years old, and has chips and scrapes in some areas. Car would need repainted to be really nice. Frame has surface rust, but no rust through anywhere. Floors, floor supports, body mounts are all good. Car needs a good cleaning, as it has been stored for a few years. I do take it out every year, and make sure all is good. Recently passed NH inspection with no issues. This is a great driving vehicle, good power with the 250HP 327. Drives nice and straight down the road, a really pleasure to drive as it is.
