For sale is my awesome 2000 Custom Honda Insight. Have had this for several years and now have to sell it due to moving. So if you know about Honda Insights, you know how great these cars are AND once you read below you will see all the upgrades and mods that have been done that YOU don't have to do. If you don't know about these cars, you're in for a treat. I bought this car for the fuel economy, plain and simple. As long as you take care of it, this vehicle will last for a very long time. Car gets about 60mpg and will EASILY last into 500,000 plus miles. No ISB noise, no synchro issues or grinds in any gear (even 2nd on a downshift). The rear main seal was also replaced (no easy task.. the electric motor's rotor must be removed to do this).New OEM Honda EGR valve (the correct part for the Insight... Not the Accord valve) and thoroughly cleaned EGR plate. No "herky-jerky" when driving in lean burn mode (which happens regularly and reliably).All new ground straps and rear engine mount.*All* new OEM Honda brake and fuel lines (these commonly rust and are a HUGE job to replace).Brand new OEM Honda underbody panels and new aluminum panel under the engine . This aluminum panel offers superior aerodynamics and greater durability than the factory plastic panels. I reliably get 62+ MPG without doing any special hypermiling stuff.Most of the common issues have been addressed and it runs/drives perfectly (with no oil consumption between 3000 mile Mobil 1 0w-20 oil changes). As you can imagine, even doing nearly all of the labor myself, I have invested over $6,000 in this car. Oil change was done about 4000 miles ago, transmission oil at the same time. Plugs were changed about 6000 miles ago along with antifreeze. MTF and antifreeze both genuine Honda, as are the plugs. Plugs should be good for quite a while. Valves were also adjusted about 6000 miles ago and the brake fluid replaced. As mentioned, car runs great, runs smooth, with NO issues, and is honestly a perfect car if you are looking to save money and have something dependable. Oh yeah, hardly any maintenance so again, very cost efficient. This vehicle won't last long, they go quick.
