Vehicle Detail
Up for grabs today is a 1995 Jeep Wrangler 4WD in need of a new home. I am listing this for my brother who bought this in December of 2016 as a daily driver to replace his Honda that died. I would say is has spent in excess of $2500 on new parts and work since buying it from the Ramsey Corp. car dealership in West Milford New Jersey. He paid $3000 for this and I knew this was not a good deal, since the Jeep had 292,500 miles on it already and didn't run so good from the get-go!! But he insisted that this was the vehicle he wanted and would not be dissuaded from buying it. So, almost at once, came the buying of car parts, laying the Jeep up at the shop for work while he used my spare car or took my father's car to go to work while waiting for the mechanic to call. But after the recent visit to the same shop again, it was revealed that the Jeep had a MAJOR crack/split in the left frame rail right in front of the steering box. We took the Jeep to a specialty welding shop in the area that was know for quality repair work (they fixed the front frame of my 2003 Dodge van so I knew they were capable). The Shop could fix it but it would require most, if not all, of the front end to be removed (all steering and suspension components) and cost would be more then he was willing to pay for. Finally, we have come to a point in the crossroads where it is no longer feasible to fix this anymore and just let it go. The following list is what work has been done in the past 15 months of ownership: 1. All new front brakes and related components. 2. New brake lines front and rear. 3. New Starter. 4. Master Tune Up; plugs, cap, rotor, serpentine belt, all filters and fluids. 5. Replaced Computer Box. 6. 4 new tires (have about 10k miles on them). 7. Complete NEW exhaust; manifold, Cat converter, pipes and muffler. 8. Belt tensioner. 9. Front sway bar bushings and End Link Bushings.10. New front Windshield and seal. The Jeep currently has 324,702 miles on the odometer and would be a good candidate for a parts vehicle or if someone has the time, space and tools to fix it. It is still currently registered and insured for the road; Good NYS inspection was just done in January. I would not drive it on the road anymore until the damage to the frame was addressed. But, I will say this, that 4 cylinder engine was still going strong, didn't smoke or but oil and had decent compression when we tested it so the piston rings and valve seats are still doing a good job sealing the engine. This needs to go so we are open to offers from all comers. There is a folder full of the receipts for the work done so we can verify what has be stated in this add. Thanks for looking. On Mar-25-18 at 18:24:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Extra info I got from the pile of receipts that my Bro kept: When the exhaust work was being done, the Intake manifold gasket and the head studs (the studs that hold the intake and exhaust manifolds to the left side of the head) were all replaced w/a new factory stud kit as well. Additionally, the cooling system and heater core was flushed out and refilled with new coolant.
