Vehicle Detail
I am a long time Mercedes AMG fanatic, and looked for the perfect S series AMG for years. Since this is Mercedes top of the line luxury car, few AMG versions were built, and most have a LOT of miles on them. If you've never driven one, it's the perfect example of a wolf in sheep's clothing. This one drives like the finest luxury car you've ever been in, quiet and smooth, until you wake her up with your right foot. The power curve is steep, and the torque feels endless. I am 68 years old, and never drive my cars hard, but I enjoy knowing its 493HP is there if I ever need it. Buying cars on the internet is something most people are scared to do, and I'm one of them. I look at cars all the time, and marvel at ads with a couple of pictures and limited text explanations. I will do my best to give you the answers to questions a serious collector looking at this ad might ask, and would love to show the car to any inspector you might hire. FYI, I am about 35 miles south of the Atlanta airport. The car has had all required maintenance recently done at my local Mercedes dealer, and the next maintenance scheduled is over 9000 miles from now. The car needs NOTHING. I bought it from a gentleman named Ernest Elliot, who lives about an hour North of Atlanta. He has his own large auto shop with a more than qualified staff, is the brother of NASCAR Hall of Fame driver Bill Elliot, and has a world class reputation as a NASCAR engine builder and mechanic. I'm sure he addressed any issues the car may have had during the time he owned it. The car was ordered for his wife from RBM of Atlanta, the largest and oldest dealer in the State. They did most of the maintenance required through the years. I think it has every option available in 2004, and they all work perfectly now. Being a used car, I'm sure you know anything can happen, so it isn't possible for me to promise nothing will ever go wrong. I'm just saying today she's great. The paint on this car looks like new, as it's always been garaged. It is as deep as any new car I have seen. There is some very minor rash very low on the rear bumper, I'm guessing from a few battles with a shrub or bush that may have been at the end of a driveway. I don't think there is a single scratch or dent, and maybe a half dozen tiny nicks from road debris, none of which is noticeable. A couple of the staggered AMG wheels have a few small areas of shopping center curb rash, with almost new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires that give the car an aggressive look. I mention these things for the perfectionist (like myself), as most people would never notice. I think the lady was told to stay away from everybody when she parked anywhere. Beautiful...! The interior is immaculate, not even any wear on the driver side bolster. Mercedes used a special premium leather for these cars, and this one has "driving dynamics" added to all the seats. They are also heated/cooled, and have electric head restraints for both front and back. The wood trim is an upgraded Chestnut color that would look right at home on a Rolls Royce. The glass windows are without nicks, and are factory special heat insulating reflective to keep sunlight effect minimal. The multi-disc radio and nav system work great, with a true concert sound. It also has soft close doors and trunk, which I love. The left side rear seat has a couple of stains which I'm afraid to try and clean, and will leave that up to the new owner to address if it bothers you. The car also has a recently serviced sunroof and keyless go. I have both original key fobs, two sets of floor mats, and original owner's manual. I'm guessing the list price must have been bumping $130K. I'm sure you aren't reading this ad if you aren't familiar with the AMG supercharged engine. so I won't waste time going through the specs. Google it if you need more detail. The engine compartment is immaculate, and the engine pulls like a freight train. The AMG package also added special handling specs, chromed door sills, larger staggered wheels, front spoiler, and side skirts. Not your daddy's Mercedes...! Now for the legal stuff. No warranty, no release of car until funds have cleared my bank, you are responsible for transporting after sale, although I'm happy to help with pick up. Setting up transporting a car is an easy process these days, so I wouldn't worry about that part. Time wasters, please stay away. You'll need cash or a good banker beforehand to buy the car. No trades. Whoever buys this car will be one very happy and lucky person. Finally, no dogs were harmed during the picture taking for this ad (this is as close to the car as I've ever let them get). Good luck to all.
