Vehicle Detail
1987 Chevrolet Silverado Short Bed ~Clean Original California truck ~Original Bright Red 30 year old paint~First year of the 5.7 Liter 350 cid TBI motor~Last year of the iconic Squarebody style for pickupsNO RESERVE AUCTION Available to own on a NO RESERVE auction is a beautiful big red 1987 Chevrolet V10 4x4 short bed with the Silverado package. This rig has lived its life in the mild fertile climate of the Salinas Valley also known as "Americas Salad Bowl" . This means this truck has been able to be preserved without any rust issues and still wears the same "Bright Red" paint she was given in 1987. This truck is special for a few reasons, one being 1987 was the last year GM built pickup trucks as squarebodys. This is the last of a legendary and truly iconic body style that ran for almost 20 years. 1987 was also the only year these trucks had fuel injection. It was a transition year for GM where the trucks all had the updated and newer technology but instead of the newer bodystyle they combined the old "Square" bodystyle with the better motor and drive train. GM also changed the model designations on trucks from C/K to R/V which would be carried into the newer trucks, making this a v10 instead of a k10. The last year of car models tend to be the best years because simply all the problems have been worked out. It is like night and day driving a fuel injected 1987 squarebody vs. an older squarebody with a carbuerated motor. As pickups go a short bed with 4 wheel drive are the hardest to find because production numbers were far less than long beds and 2 wheel drives. Yes, this truck is the best year for a squarebody. Yes, this truck is a shortbed 4x4 the best body combo for a squarebody. But what makes this truck really cool, is the overall originality of it. This truck is 30 years old and still has the original Red paint, not only that it still has the original body moldings, black and gray pinstripes and emblems. If you know these trucks you know GM paint was never known to be long lasting and the moldings are notorious for coming off. The fact that everything is all original is a testament to how this truck was kept for the last 30 years. The question you have to ask yourself is; Where are you going to find one like this? Demand for Squarebody trucks is at an all time high. You can go online right now and build an entire truck out of catalog parts from various outlets (LMC, Brothers, etc) The difference is this Squarebody is 100% American made, with original American parts, made by Americans in America. These catalogs are filled entirely with parts made in Asia that look like the real thing but are made of cheaper quality that never fits right. There is something about restoring an iconic American truck with Asian parts that seems silly to me. That is why this original Red short bed 4x4 1987 Chevy truck is something that wouldn't be easy to go out and duplicate. Don't miss out on this opportunity to own this awesome rig. 1987 Chevrolet Silverado 4x4 Short bed walk around - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] TERMS OF SALE I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO:Obtain and verify the registered information of all users who bid on this auctionCancel any and all bids at my discretion or end the auction early if necessaryBidders Age: You must be 18 years of age or older to bidSpecial eBay Bid Retraction Rules: Please read eBay's "Retracting a Bid"PLACING A BID:Your bid constitutes a legally binding contact to purchase this vehicle.
