Up for auction is my 69 VW Westalfia Camper Bus. This is a perfect restoration candidate that just came out of a 14 year storage. Has excellent bones to start with, mostly complete, missing headlight and trim and sink cabinet, otherwise complete. Top and tent works perfect but the canvas will need replacing but is complete, opens and closes freely. Body wise it has had a repaint and amateur restoration at some point in the factory red and white combo. All doors open and close perfect as well as engine compartment and rear hatch doors. Floors and frame are decent but floors are soft in some areas, interior has a rot spot about 4'' long [ see pic]. All inside compartments are in good shape and open great, some laminent peeling. I removed any carpet to show the floors which are pretty decent overall, front seats will need recovering but tracks and frames are in great shape and function properly. Has all cushions front and rear in good shape, and seats fold down. Was stored running and driving in 2003, i have not tried starting it due to bad gas but i am confident it will run with ease and i plan on getting it running this weekend. All in all a pretty much complete VW Bus in great restoreable condition. Widshield and drivers side window will need replacing. This is a perfect VW Bus for restoration or fix and drive as is, has great patina or great business advertisement. For Sale locally so i reserve the right to end early. On Nov-26-17 at 07:23:03 PST, seller added the following information: As of today the motor starts then stalls, new cap, rotor and oil change. i am guessing the carb needs a rebuild, engine has strong compression and no noises, fellow VW enthusiast says engine appeared to have been gone through. For the many people that have called the engine is a 1600 Dual Port. Hope this helps.
