1983 Mercedes 380SL, Garage Kept, Amazing Condition This is an exceptional example of the classic 380SL Mercedes sports car. Doctor-owned for the last 21 years, this car has been a used only for weekend cruising and kept in a garage under a dust cover when not in use (95% of the time)…and it shows. The original black paint is amazing in its depth and brilliance. The triple black color scheme (paint, upholstery and top) is rare and absolutely stunning. The seats and dash are pristine and the wood console and dash accents are excellent with no cracking (common issue). The carpets are thick and soft. The rubber and seals are in excellent condition. The original Mercedes silver wheels are nearly perfect. The black soft top is original, very nice and has no rips or tears. The black hard top is in excellent condition and comes with the car with the original storage rack. The car has been fastidiously maintained and a file of maintenance records dating back to 1996 will be included with the purchase. The car has never been in an accident and the Carfax is clean. It’s a very well maintained car that runs/performs smoothly, quietly and powerfully. All electronics and features function as they should. Low mileage at approximately 103K. Provenance: Included is possibly the best set of original paperwork you will find on any 380SL. This is very important to maintain the value of a classic car. In addition, the complete tool kit in the red cloth wrap is included. Notable Imperfections: There is a small “dimple” in the body piece that conceals the convertible top when the top is down and there is a small rip in the leather that trims the back of the storage area behind the seats. Pictures are included of both of these. It is a strikingly beautiful car - well maintained and well documented…one of the nicest examples in existence. The owner is deciding to sell the car after 21 years of ownership due to the recent purchase of another collector car and also to free up funds for a project. This is a private sale offered directly by the owner. The 380SL has been value priced for a long time and still is. I cannot think of any other vintage, high end, sports car at this price point, for this kind of condition.
