1972 Penton Berkshire 100The bike isn't running, but the engine turns over. Transmission shifts through all 6 gears. Iconic Model Year. The beginning of the CMF Era..... the Chrome Moly Frame Era 1972 is the first year for a total redesign of 100cc Berkshire (My vin 21159497 -- Nov 1972)(Serial numbers started at 106 00000) (first digit represents the year, next two digits represent the month, i.e. 2 = 1972 and 11 = Nov)* New Berkshire came with a Sachs engine with 6-speed transmission. * New Sachs engine uses Motoplat ignition. (my motoplat and outer cover is missing) * New Sachs engine had cast aluminum alloy cylinder and sunburst head. * New Sachs engine used 27.5mm Bing carburetor. (my carburetor is missing) * New Berkshire had Ceriani front forks ( 32mm ) * New Berkshire frame was made with Chrome Moly tubing. * New Berkshire had fiberglass 3.1 gallon gas tank and air box. (mine are in very good condition) * Small white Penton decals with model name and size on upper front sides of gas tank and 2 white stripes underneath. * New Berkshire came with Magura controls. (mine are in very good condition) * New Berkshire came with yellow number plates (mine have been painted red, but should be easy to remove, finding yellow underneath)* New Berkshire came with cast aluminum barrel style front and rear hubs. * New Berkshire came with chrome steel rims. * New Berkshire came with Ceriani rear shocks – (my left is marked 64052605C GE36, my right is marked 64052605C AE34) * New Berkshire air box came equipped with triangular shaped painted aluminum cover that also forms an oval number plate. * New Berkshire front and rear fenders were aluminum. (mine are in very good condition) My seat and exhaust are missing. Any part not shown in photos are missing. There is no title.
