It has been owned and maintained for the past 34 years and currently only has 78,739 original, documented miles. $1,491 was just spent to get her ready for sale and included the following repairs:-Evac and recharge the AC system-Replace right rear brake caliper and bleed brake system-Complete tune up-Replace valve seals-Install driver door lock assemblyShe runs just like a 71 Stingray should with responsive acceleration, proper shift points, straight taking down the road and typical stopping power. As you can see, the body is in great shape and the paint is excellent, but not show. The top looks like new, but is separating in some typical binding spots. The interior is complete, but the tach and radio are currently not functioning. The dash, gauges and glovebox are in excellent shape and the seats, door panels and carpet are presentable. As you can see in the pictures, there is some cracking on the door handles and plastic console. I took 6 pictures of the undercarriage just to show how solid this 71 Stingray is underneath. The cradle, pans and frame are all in solid condition, which is very important for Stingray investors. Therefore, I would consider this Stingray the best of both worlds, investment grade prominence coupled with a fun driving experience. It's also a great candidate for restoration if you wanted to fix some of the minor electrical issues and dress the interior up for show. We're nearing the end of the classic car driving season here in Michigan, so this car is being sold for a starting bid that's well below its value. Feel free to look them up before bidding, as they typically sell for 20K and up in this condition. Please do not offer me any less than the 15K starting bid, as I've been offered $14,500, but would rather put it in storage and sell it in the spring if she doesn't sell for my starting bid at no reserve. Feel free to call Peder (313-729-3671) or Tom at 313-805-4265 and feel free to talk about the car or set up a time for a closer inspection. Please keep in mind that this is a no-reserve auction and your bid is a legally binding agreement to purchase the car. I've had a couple of curmudgeons in the past who either wanted to negotiate after the sale or expected a Barrett-Jackson trailer queen, so please ask any and all questions before considering a bid. Also, I encourage inspections of the car and feel free to look closely at the 30 pictures that I've posted to ensure that you're satisfied with your bid. It really is a nice 71 Stingray with low mileage at a great price, but it nearly half a century old and needs to be loved and cared for just like those who've owned it in the past. Regarding payment... I expect a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of the sale and the balance paid in cash,CLEARED certified check or CLEARED wire transfer within 3 days with no exceptions. If you are flying into Detroit Metropolitan Airport to pick her up and drive her home, I'll be happy to meet you there and drive you to the Stingray (only a 20 minute ride). Also, I'll be happy to assist with the pickup and loading of the Vette if you're having it shipped, but the buyer is responsible for all expenses. Thank you and good luck during the auction. inkfrog terapeak DO NOT DUPLICATE OR COPY! Template Made By: © Inkfrog Template Center Auction Templates, Logos, Store fronts and more! inkfrog terapeak
