For Sale 1953 MG TD mileage 59,468 no reserve auction bid with a buy it now price of $16,500 or OBO . vehicle also for sale locally 1953 MG TD titled in 1954, 6 owners, major body restoration in 1993, 45,789 miles. engine rebuilt in Sept 1998 47,603 miles. The Car starts, runs and drives great, one of the best braking MGs I have ever driven. Paint is older with many flaws and has some blue stains on it that do not show up in pictures, The paint condition looks better in pictures then it actually is, but it is still very nice and the comfortable Patina of the paint is part of the charm and it pulls you into the car quickly. The paint finish has the well worn provenance look of an older restoration and you will not be scared to drive and use the car. Leather seats and interior are nicely aged and is part of that comfortable patina. Tachometer has its own mind and Speedometer needle is bouncy. Car has great Oil pressure and does not burn oil. Engine runs strong with a stainless steel exhaust system, has original air cleaners, car has heater. Turn signals, lights , horn all work. Car has the convertible top frame installed but no fabric top. all side curtains are present and stowed in proper location. Has a newer Robbins full length tonneau cover. I have the windshield wiper assembly and motor. I would not say this car is a 100% correct restoration but it is a pretty close and faithful representation of originality, and all workmanship has been done is to a pretty high standard. This is a solid running vehicle which is great fun to drive. People love it and just walk around it smiling Over $6,400 worth of Repairs since 9/5/14, mileage 59,227 with receipts from professional shops: all new brake wheel cylinders, new brake shoes, new rubber brake hoses, new front wheel bearings, radiator hose,spark plugs, valves adjusted, re torque cylinder head, carburetors cleaned and adjusted, new starter solenoid, install generator, new brake master cylinder, install new starter, remove and rebuild Distributor, new clutch sump lever with needle bearings, new clevis pins, installed adjustable clutch rods. upgraded to spin on oil filter. also included still new in the box are Halogen headlights and Moss relay kit (.from previous owner). I will include a set of Whitworth sockets and wrenches. this is a numbers matching car....the engine matches the guaranty plate (on vin tag) and the frame stamping matches the VIN tag. no funny business going on with this title.. and all engine air cleaners are the original, these often get lost over the decades. receipts and notes going back to 1998.
