A very early example with matching numbers! 1971 Triumph T120R Bonneville Frame Number: T120R KG35744 Engine Number: T120R KG35744 Triumph’s enormous success with the Bonneville was getting old by 1970, so a redesign was in order. For 1971, a fresh oil-in-frame design was employed. Criticized at first, these lovely machines are gaining traction in the collector’s market for their tall and sleek design. This matching-numbers example was built very early in the model in September of 1971. It is offered in excellent condition throughout, having enjoyed a full restoration some years ago. Since, it has been used sparingly and maintained meticulously, at the hands of Dean Collinson, marque expert and true master mechanic. The bike starts easily and runs well with good power. It shifts well through the 4-speed ‘box, and all brakes, suspension and electrical systems work perfectly. The bike feels taut and unmolested. The bike presents well with older paint in a candy red with orange tones, pinstriped gold, in perfect keeping with the 1970s vintage of the bike. The restoration has held up well, but some patina is starting to show. The bie comes with an original toolkit and a clean, clear, California title. It is registered until July of 2018. This is a great riding, nicely presented, classic and desirable bike with nice patina where it should be.
