Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 2000 Volkswagen Eurovan 2.8L GLS VR6 Winnebago camper. The camping package was done by Winnebago and is very similar to the layout, function and feel of a Westphalia. Please check out the photos for the details. The interior, pop-top and canvas are all in good shape. There's some minor wear and tear that should be expected in a 17 year old camper. These are one of the most fun vehicles to drive, camp and travel in. People love them and always seem to have some sort of story / memory to share about an "old VW". This vehicle was purchased brand new by its current and only owners and has 197,872 miles. The vehicle is listed locally as well so we do reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally first. Please note the mileage may increase slightly due to test drives, etc. Included in the auction are the original owners manual and receipts for all of the work and maintenance that has been done for the last decade or so. From 2011 through 2017 the following work / parts replacement / maintenance has been done: Ignition coilReplaced starterSerpentine belt tensioner and beltRear brake lines replacedLeft & right rear calipers, pads & rotorsNew parking brake cableLeft & right upper and lower ball jointsLeft & right, inner & outer tie rodsNew fuel filter, plugs and wiresMuffler, pipe assembly, resonator & exhaust clampsRocker panel replacementReplaced sliding door assembly In 2015 the engine was removed and the timing chains, guides and tensioners were all replaced. New gaskets and seals were installed at this time. Some of the exhaust manifold studs that were rusty were replaced. New front O2 sensor. New ignition coil (separate from prior work listed above), wires and plugs installed. Replaced all plastic system cooling parts - some were old and cracked. New muffler. New front brake rotors and pads. Both front lower ball joints were replaced. Repaired all vacuum leaks and replace all lines as necessary. The alignment was done as well. The receipts for all of the above work / maintenance since 2011 totals just over $19,000. The work on the engine, etc. from 2015 was over $6,400 by itself. Yes - I added all of the receipts (twice!) and they will be provided with the sale. There's also another $2,000+ in miscellaneous repairs. The owners obviously loved this vehicle and had no problem doing what ever it took to keep it on the road. If you've ever owned a VW camper you'll understand. If you've never had the joy of owning and driving one - here's your chance. The "check engine" light recently came on and the owners took it to the local VW mechanic. There are multiple codes present. I haven't talked to the mechanic for the specific codes yet but I do have an OBDII scanner and can stop by the van and get them for you if you want to know exactly what's popping up. The vehicle does run and drive. It stops just fine but according to the mechanic there is some sort of electrical issue that is causing the vehicle to fire on only 4 of its 6 cylinders. For some reason two of the cylinders are not receiving the electrical signal to fire. So the initial assessment is that's it's electrical - not mechanical. As hard as it is to part ways with a great camper that they've owned for 17 years, the owners recently purchased a new motorhome and no longer wish to keep the VW. So there's the good and the bad. It's been a solid and much loved van but its time for the owners to move on and for a new owner to keep this great vehicle alive! Vehicle is being sold AS IS with no warranty. This is a No Reserve auction so the vehicle will sell to the highest bidder. Please don't bid if you don't intend to follow through with the vehicle purchase. Also included in the sale are 4 studded snow tires. I believe they are Nokian Hakkapelittas but they haven't been pulled out of storage yet. I will plan on confirming this with the owners. Please look at the photos and email me with any and all questions prior to bidding! If your serious I'd suggest coming and looking at the vehicle yourself and/or having a mechanic check it out. It's located in Shelburne, VT. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for all shipping. The owners are willing to hold the vehicle for up to 1 week (may be flexible) after the auction so you have time to make arrangements for picking up / shipping. $500 deposit via PayPal due within 24 hours of auction end. Full payment due within 7 days of auction end. Again - please email me with any questions you may have prior to bidding. I'll try to respond right away. Please note that I may have to check with the owners if your question is something I don't know. If that's the case I will let you know. I've owned several air-cooled VW's and that's why the owners (and personal friends) have asked me to help them in getting this sold. Please also see my 100% perfect feedback and bid with confidence. Thanks for looking and good luck! 08/08/2017: I received a couple of emails over the weekend so I went and scanned the check engine codes today. Here's what popped up:P1240, P1425, P1401, P1451, P1472, P1421 and P0102 I also received some questions regarding the camping equipment. The sink and shower do work. The propane tank had a small leak and was removed but not replaced. So the stove does not work. The fridge is able to be run on either the propane or electricity. Since there is no propane I tried firing it up via electricity but couldn't seem to get it to work. 08/11/2017: Here are the current codes that are popping up: P1240, P1425, P1401, P1451, P1472, P1421 & P0102. I also have some pictures of the undercarriage available. I'm maxed out on the eBay ad photos so if you're interested please send me a message and can email them over to you.
