1962 Buick Electra 225 Convertible. A South Gate, California built car, it has been in California since it was built.It is a running, driving car with no smoke or knocks. Good original 401 nailhead engine and Dynaflow transmission.The rocker shafts are still shiny, no sludge.The cooling system is good with no rust in the radiator, just clear green coolant.Transmission fluid is red and smells fine.The car needs a complete restoration.The paint is bad. It looks to have had one lacquer repaint long ago.The original red leather is present but showing it's age.It has the rare bucket seat option.It has the vacuum trunk release.The carpet was removed to show the condition of the floors. The power windows and seat are all functioning. All glass is good,but left vent wing has bubbles. Brand new Robbins convertible top and pads installed early this year. The top pump and hoses are missing,the top cylinders are there.The rocker moldings are missing, there is a pair for sale on eBay right now for $75.00. Four new Kumho Optima whitewall tires were installed two months ago.The fuel system and brakes were gone through in the last year. This car was last registered in 1993, and has the old six-digit blue and yellow California plates. No back fees are due. It has the old 1979 issued small square California "pink slip" title.The floors, as pictured, are very solid with some surface rust. The trunk floor has some perforations.The quarters have bubbles and perforations, but are very repairable. See pics of panels, doors, and fenders. Some filler in the right door and fender. The frame and rockers are excellent, as one would expect of a West Coast car. Overall a very worthy candidate for restoration. I have a 1966 Chevelle SS396 which has taken my time and energy from this project, so, sadly it has to go. I love nailhead Buicks, and looked a long time for this very special one.The car is sold AS-IS. I am selling it with NO RESERVE.
