Vehicle Detail
1969 Chevrolet Camaro 350 4 Speed This is a great starter project car for a restoration or a good resto-rod. The car was a Los Angeles built car and originally sold new at Van Strough Chevrolet In Oakland, CA. As documented by the NCRS shipping data report which we have. Currently here in Pennsylvania, the car was brought back here east a number of years ago but never saw use in any winter climate. The car was repainted about 20 years ago in hugger orange but was originally code 53 glacier blue. Originally built as a base 350 V8 with a 4 speed, it was also changed over to a turbo 350 automatic at one point. Clutch pedal assembly is still in place. Also includes options of power top, in dash tach and console is other gauges. Trim tag denotes black standard interior and black convertible top. Please note that the pictures depict exterior paint to be much nicer than it actually is. It is a fair quality 20 year old overall repaint with many small chips and downs along with some General paint failure overall. The body, including floors and trunk pan or totally solid, rust free and original panels to the car. Quarters, deck lid, fenders and doors are all excellent but for small dings. Panel fit is good. A factory '69 super sport hood was also fitted along with some emblems, BUT THIS IS NOT AN SS. Exterior trim and glass are presentable as is the convertible top. Interior has been redone and some rather ugly black cloth, possibly someone's great mothers drapery. The car needs a complete interior to be nice having poor carpet, door panels and a dash pad. The original four speed console with gauges is intact but now has an aftermarket automatic shifter in place. There is no radio in the car. Convertible top frame is excellent and fits very well. The trunk floor is excellent with no prior repairs. This car has not had any regular use for over 10 years but we have made it run and drive. It is not the original motor but now has a smooth running 1973 307 V8 backed up by a 350 turbo. The car does run and drive with fully functioning brakes but we suggest a more thorough mechanical service if you choose to drive and enjoy the car as it is. Rarely today does a 1969 Camaro convertible come up with a solid western body but in a very affordable condition for the hobbyist. This car is an outstanding car to build but could be driven and enjoyed now and waiting for a future build. You will not find many like this priced as we have this car. Look over our pictures and please call for any additional information to assist you in your decision to purchase.
