Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike from the original owner, and I have the original title. This bike was first titled in June of 1983, and has been meticulously cared for and maintained. The bike was just serviced (synthetic oil, fork seals, valve adjust, new front tire) and is mechanically perfect in every way. It literally runs, drives, shifts, brakes and cruises like it was brand new. And it LOOKS brand new in almost every way. Here is what the bike comes with: Corbin gun slinger seat with original box. The Corbin seat is on the bike, and is like new--and the original seat looks and feels brand new. Supertrapp slip-on exhaust, both canisters. They are not on the bike, but are in one the pictures. They are in excellent condition, and easy to install. Original Hondaline custom fit coverHonda soft bags and mounting system including luggage rackBagman wool bottomed tank bag with straps and helmet coverOriginal chainTwo Honda recall letters. Both recall items were completed by Honda, although not necessary.New, never used replacement bars in Honda packaging (from one of the recalls).Original cam chain tensioners, excellent condition (from the other recall--but they look brand new with no wear).Shop manual--with some notes from the owner.Owner’s manual with some service records recorded--and the booklet is in excellent condition with its original pouch.Miscellaneous service records.Original title--such a cool document!! From Southern Utah, where it is warm and dry.Spark plugs.Honda touch up paint for the white.Replacement head light bulb.New, unused gear shift rubber pad, unopened Honda bag.Various replacement gaskets, including front fairing, generator and valve cover gasketsCarb kit partsUnopened, unused speedometer cable in Honda bagOriginal thermostat, replaced in regular service, but original is still good as per markings on the packaging. Original turn signal switch (he upgraded to a self canceling OEM switch from Honda, which was not standard on the 1983 V45 Interceptor).Hondaline highway bars, installed on the bike--and they look new. Both original keys plus some other spares. All mechanicals are perfect. Tires and fork seals are new, a valve and carb service and synch were performed less than 300 miles ago. There are no leaks, or any problems of any type with any system on the bike--it literally runs, drives, shifts, stops and turns LIKE NEW. COSMETICS: this bike is NOT PERFECT in every way--but it is PERFECT in ALMOST every way. The only items that would keep this bike from scoring a perfect "100" are as follows: 1) The right exhaust canister has a rust ring. It isn't quite all the way through, but it is getting close and you can clearly see it in one of the pictures. Options are a replacement, run it as is until there is an exhaust leak (there isn't one now) or use the SuperTrapps. 2) The tank has some flaws--a few small knicks and a couple dents. One dent is easy to see in one of the pics, the other isn't--one is towards the back of the tank on the right top edge. (easy to see) The other one is on the top of the tank--the owner said something fell on the top in his garage while it was under cover. The paint is not affected, but there is a bit of a warp or bend. It is not huge, and many people don't see it--but it is there. The picture that shows the cockpit and gas tank shows it the best--it is towards the back right top section of the tank if you are looking at it while on the bike. 3) The engine paint on one side has a few spots where the finish isn't perfectly smooth--like a chemical spilled on part of it years ago. But the black paint is still great. Other than that--the bike looks like new EVERYWHERE. In fact, the closer and longer you look, the more impressive this machine is...other than the flaws listed above, it is MINT, SHOWROOM, LIKE NEW. I have lots of pictures, and I also have a 5 minute video of the bike that you can watch at: https://youtu.be/On9qOSvp8-E About me: I 48 years old and have been in love with motorcycles since I was a tiny boy. I own (among others things) a nicely modded ZX-14, and have ridden all over the USA and much of Western Canada. I have drag raced. I have exported over a hundred used bikes to Europe, and I paid my way through college running one of the largest used bike shops in the country. Whenever we travel, I enjoy bike shows, museums and exhibits wherever I can find them. I may not be an expert, but I have been around a bit...and THIS bike is really, really exceptional. I live in Pocatello, Idaho, and you are welcome to inspect the bike anytime if you are able. I will gladly store the bike (I have plenty of indoor storage) for a reasonable amount of time while you arrange pick up if you buy the bike. And I will also do my best to help you with transport if you would like. Some business items: I have a start price at $4,350. I really do not know if the bike is worth more or less than that amount, but it is worth at least that much to me--so please do not bother offering less--I respectfully decline any offers under my "low", as I am very happy to drive it and stare at it and show it locally for years to come if I happen to be the only one that thinks this bike is something special. I will not take Paypal, or conduct business via text or email with someone looking to send me a wire and pick the bike up for their brother in law in Jibeketstan. I have been a dealer for years and have seen just about every scam in the book, please don't waste my time. Also of note on the cam recall--the replacements were done, but the originals were perfect with no damage and looked new when they came out of the bike. Even if you aren't a buyer, I hope you enjoy looking at the pics and video of this great machine. Thank you for looking!!Adam
