Thank you for checking out my Firebird. This is truly a great un-restored piece of Pontiac history. It would not require too much other than a re-paint and a refresh on the suspension and steering bushings to take it to the next level, if desired. Personally, I really like it as it is and you do not see them in original paint in this condition (ok, what is left of the lacquer, the California Sun had its way with the finish). I have always liked the Raisin in its current Sun-Dried state and have others that have seen it and really think it should left un-restored, but the decision to provide further restoration is left up the next ownership. The car has a clear Wisconsin title in the Sellers name with no Bank Liens of other encumbrances. Other paperwork included will include the original "real" dealership Window Sticker, Broadcast sheet, Protecto-plate, owners manual, and the a copy of the California Title from the last registered owner (1996) of the car which is showing the California Black plate #s on it). The title is a color copy because I had to surrender it when I registered it but the rest of the documentation is the real deal, not PHS reproduced. The following improvements were made during my ownership, focused on preservation and to keep the provenance since April 2012. Copies of the invoice receipts will be provided to the new Buyer.•Re-cored radiator but maintained the original Harrison tanks and stamps.• New Gas tank sender unit (It was purchased from the Rick’s Camaro's website and has the required return hose for this car).•New interior seat covers and headliner professionally installed (PUI thru Ames)•Changed ignition points to petronix ignition (huge improvement and original parts will be included)•Replaced the original plastic-cog gear set and timing chain with new gears and a double-oilier timing chain. •Replaced the brake master cylinder with aftermarket, original has been rebuilt by Karp’s in CA (both incl)•New front Sway-bar arm bushings and bolts (AMES)•New Period-look Battery (have the receipt)•New Battery Harness with pincer clamps (Ames)•Period correct (date coded) 1968 Sun SuperTach (Day-2 item)•Special ordered and wiring harness for Sun SuperTach (Special ordered on-line)The original Rochester 4 bbl. carburetor (#7028265 XF) is included in the sale but not on the car. It was to be sent off to Cliff Ruggles (Cliff's High Performance Quadrajets) by the previous owner but he never followed through in his ownership, thus it was provided to me at purchase of the Firebird in 2012. I have not attempted to install the referenced carburetor as the car runs so nice with the current Quadrajet (#7040240 MD) which is for a 1969 Buick Skylark GS . The former owner operated a restoration shop in Cleveland which specialized in 70 Buick GS cars which connects the dots.I have boxed up many of the parts that were changed out and was also provided what appear to be the original hoses from the owner before me. I have a carpet kit from AMES and a new Burl wood decal set for the console, and a front speaker replacement (radio works but the speaker is shot) that will be available at a discounted price to the buyer if interested. The original GTO special order shift knob (as indicated on the invoice) will be installed and is included, but the Hurst T-shift knob pictured will not be included with the auction (purchased the T handle in 2013 and got to keep a "piece" of the experience/ownership). I believe that pictures speak a 1000 words so I will not belabor the description of this vehicle other than saying that is a really nice an “Honest Car.” I can provide several more pics through Google but will need to be contacted through eBay to do so. I will attempt to respond each night that it is listed. Here are the Specs and codes for the 68 and what they translate to, based on the VIN and documentation:EquipmentPaint Flambeau BurgundyInterior Custom Deluxe Black Bucket Seats22337 Firebird Hardtop Coupe345 400 4BBL inc. chrome air cleaner lid and valve covers354 4-Speed Manual Floor Shift361 Safe-T-Track Rear Axle Heavy Duty382 Push Button AM Radio472 Console524 Custom Gear Shift Knob (this would be the Walnut GTO shift knob) 554 Custom Trim OptionAs you can see this Firebird was nicely “hot rod” optioned!
