Up for auction...1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SLC. This car is sort of a barn find, more exact, it's a garage find, in that...the current owner has owned it for just under 10 years and has only put about 4000 miles on it during that time. So the car has been in the garage for most of those 10 years. All seems to be original, and with only 108095 miles, it's a low mileage car as well. I'm selling the car for an elder friend, who does not have an ebay account. I only know so much about the vehicles history. The owner insisted that I take photos of it as it is (unwashed) as he pulled it out of his garage. I took it for a spin, found some play in the steering wheel, a noise when you apply the break, doesn't sound serious. There is also a bit of a hesitation in the throttle response, this may be a Mercedes common thing, not too familiar with this manufacturer's characteristics. Did drive well though. The tires have plenty of tread on them, unfortunately, being as old as they are, never been replaced during the 10 years, they have weather checks. The car looks like a typical car that has been in storage for some time, which this one has. The body is straight, the paint is good for it's age (noticed one spot on the hood where the clear coat has come off, about the size of a tennis ball). One trim piece missing from the drivers side (see photo). Interior is clean, one front seat has a tare, but no cracks on the dash, carpet is aged but not damaged or stained. No visible rust. Trunk is clean. Moon roof works. This is a decent driving project, should clean up nicely with a detail. With only 108k miles, it's worth a look, and serious consideration. Owner just never drives it anymore, and wants to see that someone who will drive it, owns it. I will answer any questions you may have, as best as I can. There is a clear clean title on the car. Original California plate. Will sell internationally. I believe, cars usually are shipped out of Oakland, CA. Car is located in the Sacramento, CA area.
