Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I purchased this car a couple of years ago. I used it as a daily driver, and have driven 6500 miles in it since I got the car. This car was a blast to drive, having insanely great acceleration from a dead stop, and great cornering performance due to the low center of gravity with the battery pack and motor installed lower in the car’s frame. The vehicle has a clear title, and has not been in any accidents. I recently moved to a location farther from work, on a mountain, which exceeded the car’s range for me to get to work from my new home and back. I am not able to plug in at my work location to extend the daily range. So I am selling this car, to make room in my garage for the vehicle I am now driving to work each day. The car has only 16,530 miles on it, despite being a 2006 model. The car was always kept in a garage by the previous owner and me (except when at work), so it’s in great condition. I am sad to let this car go, but I can’t get enough use out of it to justify keeping it. This car was a conversion done by Hybrid Technologies in 2007 as a turnkey electric car. They started with a “glider” purchased new form Chrysler, so the car has only been driven as an electric car. The only documentation with the car is a page that tells you how to start the car. Hybrid Technologies won the electric car “X prize” a number of years ago. The company has since changed its name and I believe they are now making electric racing cars. Top speed I drove the car was 80 MPH (128 KPH). I have driven the car on freeways usually at 65 - 70 mph. It has a 3-phase AC motor, paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). This means that manually changing gears is never necessary. I think the motor/gearbox is the same as used by Ford for their electric Transit Connect minivan. The motor controller features regenerative braking (charges back as much as 4 amps while coasting). The power brake vacuum pump is electric, and the power steering pump is also electric (can be turned off if you want to extend range a little). The 330V Lithium ion 100 Ah battery pack has a 97 mile range at 55 mph on level road. It has a battery management system (BMS) that monitors state of charge and temperature of each battery cell, to ensure even charging and discharging of battery cells. EV instrumentation consists of an LCD screen with information on remaining range, % charge left, current being used, and temperature of battery pack cells. This car has fantastic acceleration; I peeled out three times the first time I drove the car, until I got used to being gentler with the accelerator pedal. The Michelin SUV tires are almost brand new, with less than 1000 miles driven on them. The car has a functional heater; the AC is not functional since the electric compressor is gone (was gone when I bought the car). The car came with a J1772 charging cable for Level 1 (110V) or Level 2 (220V) power sources. The charger isn’t charging the battery pack any more; it needs to be refurbished or replaced. There is still 30 miles of range left in the battery pack. I decided that, since I was going to have to sell the car, it didn’t make sense to spend the extra money to replace/repair the charger. The A/C compressor was missing when I bought the car, and I haven’t replaced it. In the summer, I would crack the windows for ventilation, or use the blower. The heat works great. The paint is almost perfect, with a couple small spots where the primer is showing on the driver’s side near the rear wheel. Positives: very low mileage and new tires is like a brand new car. I estimate the battery pack alone is worth $10,000 and the motor/CVT another $6,000. Negatives: needs a charger refurb/replacement and A/C compressor. The car comes with a cover, rear utility shelf and a rubber bed liner. The rear seats fold down and can be removed for more cargo space, like the standard PT Cruiser. On Jun-11-17 at 19:31:35 PDT, seller added the following information: The car has a total of 16,530 miles on the odometer. I didn't catch this error when I started the auction, and the eBay auction listing editor won't let me change the mileage in the listing.
