1956 Mercury METALIST for sale. This is a rust free Mercury with fresh paint, all chrome trim re chromed or polished, brand new interior including carpet and headliner installed, rebuilt original engine and transmission, brakes redone, bearings, the works. However, it is a project as it needs final assembly. It is an all original complete car with extra parts (2 sets of tail lights, etc.) It was a barn find, sort of. Previous owner was restoring and passed away. it sat for 10 years before I picked it up. I've turned the engine over and it starts, has good compression, oil is clean. I only ran it from a gas can and haven't checked fuel tank and lines yet. I'm going to put her back together and if it doesn't sell before then, relist at a much higher price once she's complete and road worth. Only thing I see wrong is the exhaust will need to be redone from the manifolds back. The car is in Texas just outside San Antonio if you'd like to come see it or want to estimate shipping (78006). I can haul it to you just about anywhere in Texas once it's bought and paid for for a nominal fee. I won't haul it until after the deal is done and I'm paid for the car..
