Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is our 2008 Volvo XC70 AWD Wagon NO RESERVE! Please read the entire description below! The Good:This car was owned by my father and passed down to us, so it's been in one family and primarily used as a commuter car. It has just over 182,000 highway miles. It needs work, but here are some of the better features:The engine runs very good and has a brand new Duralast battery.Oil was changed roughly every 5,000 miles. Continental True Contact tires have only 30k miles on them and have a solid amount of tread left. Interior is in decent shape with only moderate wear on the leather seats. This is a non-smoking car, but we do have kids and a small dog. A/C is nice and cold, and all power systems work great, including the moonroof and all doors and locks.Premium sound system with CD and MP3 aux. jackBlind spot warning systemHeated front seats and dual climate control.Title is clean. The Bad:This car needs a significant amount of small to moderate mechanical repairs. I will try to list all of them below:Key fob is stuck in the ignition. It's the weirdest thing. We just use the spare fob to lock the doors and set the alarm.Rear brakes and rotors are shot and need replacing -- it's literally metal-on-metalThe rear tailgate latch is broken but works if you know how to jimmie it. However, the gate does not stay open on its own. There is a frequent and loud squeak coming from the passenger side rear of the car. We've been told that it's a bushing in either the trailing arm or control arm, and one or both need to be replaced. There is a major leak in the windshield washer reservoir and needs to be replaced.Rear wiper blade needs to be replaced. The Ugly:This car was in a minor accident in 2015 when it was rear-ended at a slow speed at a stop light. The rear bumper was replaced at the time. However, there are a fair amount of other cosmetic issues. Again, I'll try to list them all below, but please refer to the photos:Large push-in dent on left rear quarter-panel (caused by me backing into it in the driveway) that could probably be popped outThe shell of the passenger side mirror is cracked/broken but the power mirror function still worksTwo dents over one of the doors where someone apparently tried to break into the carDent in driver-side rear door - likely from a parking lotSeveral small dents in hood from acorns, baseballs, etc.License plate frames are rustyScrapes in bumpersCracked rear parking lightVarious other slight paint blemishes you'd find on any 180k mile car If you're looking for a perfect car you can drive away with, this is not for you. However, this is a great car for someone who is handy, a mechanic, or a reseller who knows a good car when they see one and who has the knowledge and resources to fix it up. With the right care, you could probably get another 100k miles out of it. Please message me with any questions and I'll be as forthright as possible. If I think of any further issues, I will list them asap.On May-31-17 at 09:01:41 PDT, seller added the following information: Car is being sold in 'AS IS' condition. On Jun-01-17 at 03:49:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to stress again that the rear brakes are completely shot. We've stopped driving the car altogether because they are grinding so bad. Therefore, if you buy the car, you may want to have it towed, or drive it directly to the nearest shop. We will not be responsible for having this fixed. On Jun-01-17 at 03:54:07 PDT, seller added the following information: Forgot to mention that the 'Check Engine' light is on, as if that's a surprise.
