Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a numbers matching, clean/clear titled, currently MD state registered, 1977 Triumph Bonneville T140V. Always stored in garage. Never saw rain. I have owned this bike for the past 6+ years. Bike shows 3,831 miles. True mileage unknown. Speedometer cable was not hooked up when originally bought (but has been since). I put a little over 700 miles on it during my ownership. This is a 1-2 kick, non-restored, mostly stock 40 year old motorcycle with lots of patina, and several newer/minor replacement parts (mirrors, mufflers, tail light cover, etc.). Bike rarely - if ever - leaves it's mark on the garage floor. Tank coated inside and repainted outside prior to my purchasing the bike. Tires are good and battery seems OK. Upgrades during my ownership include a complete/new fabric wire harness, TriSpark electronic ignition, front brake master cylinder, fork tubes, coils (just to name a few). Rear fender/rack was added prior to my ownership (I believe it's from a 1979). I've kept good records over the years. A binder with receipts totaling over $5,000. worth of maintenance and work will come with the bike (see photo). Most all work performed by a local, well known/long time British motorcycle specialist: Jack Geoghegan, owner of Deer Park Cycle in Sykesville, MD. (Bike was just serviced 8 months ago.) Sale includes original owner's manual, sales flyer/brochure, and a few spare parts. Again, this is a non-restored, 40 year old motorcycle with lots of patina. Here are a few things that may eventually need wrenching on: Bike does smoke during start-up ONLY, but it soon clears out. I was told "valve guides are worn and may need to be replaced down the road, but are not bad enough to warrant fixing right now." Can be ridden as-is, with no problems. Turn signals work but do not blink. Horn does not honk but is hooked up. The kill switch has been disconnected (bike turns off at key)... Typical Lucas electrical issues. Handle bar rubber bushings are worn but I will include a new set with bike. Speedo works but needle is bouncy. I just fired it up after a 6 months slumber (1 kick) and took it for a short ride. It's a little sluggish, so carbs probably need cleaning. I can e-mail you a video of it running, if interested. Happy to show bike in person if local. Message me with additional questions you might have. I will assist with shipping/loading, etc., any way I can. I have sold several bikes on eBay before. Check out my 100% positive feedback. I will include a MD State Bill of Sale, if requested. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
