Up for auction is a well maintained 2002 VW New Beetle GLS TDI Diesel. It has 212,000 miles but runs and drives like a new car. TDI engines are known for their durability and can hit half a million miles with no problem. Another cool thing about TDIs is their excellent milage. In the summer id average 42-43mpg and thats with an automatic too! This car has been exceptionally mechanically well maintained. I have kept record of any and ALL service and maintenance done and will be provided to the next owner. Compression is excellent. Always used synthetic oil at 10K intervals. Tires are new yet with less than 10K on them. Manifold has been cleaned, all sensors and solenoids are in excellent working condition. Transmission is in excellent condition and never gave one hiccup of trouble. The manual does not specify an interval for servicing the transmission, but as anyone mechanically inclined would tell you-there really is NO lifetime fluid. The transmission was serviced every 50K including pentosin and filter, etc. The 01M automatic is a very reliable transmission if they are taken care of and not abused. All features on this vehicle are in excellent working order, windows, door locks, air conditioning all work excellent. There is absolutely NO leaks. ALL fluids have been recently changed including the brake fluid, power steering, and transmission fluid and filter. The brakes and rotors are also brand new. All in all, it starts, runs, drives excellently and is ready to go. Never had ANY problem starting even on the coldest of winter days. The reason i'm selling is because i have a newer vehicle and no longer have use for this one. As a side note, in 2015, there was some damage done to the passenger side door while i was at work. someone had backed into it but i just had the whole door replaced so that is looks nice again. It wasn't at high speed or anything, but enough to put a few dents in the door. definitely by no means anything major or any mechanical damage was done to the car, just cosmetic damage. Also, there is a rip in the drivers seat. The alignment is good, steering wheel is perfect center when driving, NO shakes or rumbles or strange noises at all. It drives perfectly straight and does not pull to either side. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
