I bought this car locally from a dealer who lied about its condition. The car had overheating issues. It also had a misfire in cylinder 4. I have since replaced all of the cooling components. Radiator, thermostat, upper and lower radiator hose, water pump and timing belt. I have also replaced the spark plugs, the ignition coil pack, the driver front wheel hub assembly and a few other things. I pulled the engine and had the heads machined and replaced the head gaskets with the new MLS Subaru OEM gaskets, also included in their kit was the intake manifold and exhaust manifold gasket. Also replaced the rear main seal. The issue with this car is that the number 1 head bolt on the passenger side will not torque to spec. I attempted to put a helicoil into the block to fix this issue. It did not allow me to torque to spec. Also, while taking the engine apart I broke the cam position sensor and its mounting bracket. The entire plastic timing cover assembly was in bad shape and not fixable so I tossed all the plastic parts. I am into this car for $2800 right now and done messing with it. I was going to put it back together and try to trade it in with the moron that sold it to me but I figured someone that knows these cars can get a good vehicle. Especially if they have another block laying around. All extra parts I have for the car will be included. I don't see a point in mounting the engine back to the transmission but all the bolts I have pulled off the engine are labeled and in their own individual bags. Engine will fit in the back. The carpet is safe as this car has a nice rubber Subaru mat. Body has a few bumps and bruises, it isn't a beauty queen by any means, I would rate it a 7/10 clear coat on the hood is peeling, however there is no rust on this car. Interior has a tiny rip in the rear passenger carpet, and a little bit of cracking on the passenger dash. I would rate it 8/10 seats hardly look like they have been sat in. Transmission shifts perfectly. AC blows cold and heater was hot once I replaced the thermostat. Starting price is Ebays listing fee. I just want the car gone at this point.
