Vehicle Detail
Selling a 1987 Saab 900 Turbo 2 DR Hatchback. I am the 3 RD owner, owners 1 and 2 are from the same Bel Air family who purchased the car from Culver City Saab in late 1987. Original miles are correct, 32777 actual miles. The car was not driven for the past 15 years as it sat in a car port, prior to that is was used for light driving and grocery shopping. A certified Saab Mechanic just completely went through the car. I can supply you with a list of everything serviced and replaced. The Saab runs and drives great. It has had some repaint work done several years ago, some chips and surface scratches in the paint but you can see in the pictures, the car looks great. Front bumper is in good shape, rear bumper has some fading and some corner bump area. 1 tail light has a crack. Needs a new set of tires, 2 tires are good 2 are starting to crack along the sides. The Hofco alarm is in the car and I have the key fob but it is disconnected. The cruise control system requires some minor attention. The leather drivers seat is worn on the outside edge, the remaining leather seats look brand new. The clarion AM FM cassette player does not work. The dash pad on top has the typical cracks. Probably the best color combo Saab and maybe the lowest mileage Saab out there! I will post more pictures once I get it out into the sunlight. UPDATE: Update to all the questions, (Thank you to everybody who is interested in this car!) I knew the interest was going to be high on this Saab. Those of you offering 3k, 4K and 6K for this car, forget it! Transmission? The Saab is an automatic Tran. Paint? The repaint was done well, trim was removed with only some over spray on the inside driver door panel screws and some hidden rubber trim. It was not a full repaint of the car, seems like just spots. FYI The pictures show the Saab only washed, I have not even waxed it! #2 What is working? Everything is working on the Saab, even the heated seats. Not working, the original Hofco alarm (A Los Angeles alarm company, I am sure it can be restored if you want to, I even have the original FOB). The cruise control feature, it is all there just needs some attention, hose is cracked I just have not had time to start on it. The Clarion radio is not working, they are hard to find. One was just on Ebay that sold for $40.00 but the cassette was not working on it. For the Purist, I am sure you can find one, or maybe the new owner will want to upgrade the radio. The only other thing that would need attention (as a detailed oriented restore type is the dash cover, it is cracked and could be repaired (video on the web) or a replacement cover that goes over it. The drivers seat leather is worn on the entry side panel, I had a quote to replace the panel for $210.00. Keys? I have 1 original Saab key and one remake. I will get the car out of my garage and take pictures after the rain forecast. Also, I forgot to mention, I have the original owners Manuel complete with the note pad and the small flashlight. Also the tool kit is in the car with all the spare tire assembly. The car is also equipped with the fog light dash switch, which I am told is rare. I am in no hurry to sell the unique Saab and I am wishing it will go to some one who will finish the last couple details on the car. A true 80's classic that I really did not intend on selling, but that is a long story....requires a few beers to tell it! No, I am not new to Ebay, I have been inactive for a period due to my work and Ebay reset my account.
