OVER 50 PICTURES BELOW IF YOU JUST SCROLL DOWN! 1951 DODGE WAYFARER Vehicle Overview: Stock: 51D VIN: 37140072 Year: 1951 Exterior Color: BURGANDY Make: DODGE Interior Color: BURGANDY Model: WAYFARER Mileage: 57700 Engine: 230 Transmission: Manual Vehicle Description: FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION WE HAVE FOR SALE a good running 1951 Dodge convertible. The flat-head engine starts great and runs sweet, the 3 speed manual transmission works good with a fluid drive, lights work, good convertible top, mostly original paint with lots of touched up chips, body is solid, good wide white wall tires. Lots of options, like convertible, electric gas cap, dual heat controls, over drive transmission, wire wheels, fog lights, spot light, fender shirts and more. WHAT IS THE HISTORY? I bought the car from a friend here in Tennessee, he bought the car from a lady in Georgia. Her husband passed away and her neighbor was a friend of my friend and told him about the car. HOW IS THE BODY? In my opinion the body is very good. I see no big dents in the body and it looks super solid. The frame is huge and looks very solid, the floors and all panels look original and solid. I see no rusty holes on the under side, the worst thing I see is 2 rusty edges on the out board body mounts. The under side is dirty, but very solid. HOW IS THE ENGINE? Its a flat head 6 cylinder that starts and runs very good, I think it is 230 cubic inches. It is still a 6 positive ground system. I hear no in-wanted noises or knocks and no blue smoke. HOW IS THE TRANSMISSION? I admit I am not up on this transmission set up. It definitely is a fluid drive, it will roll when parked, in gear with the clutch out. Its shifts just like a 3 speed manual, it also has a over drive lever under the dash that I have not tried. HOW IS THE CONVERTIBLE TOP? Good used condition. HOW IS THE INTERIOR? Decent used condition with one patch in the drivers seat. HOW ARE THE TIRES? Very good wide white side wall tires. HOW ARE THE RIMS? They are wire wheels, don't know if they are original, but they look cool. The spinners are painted, not chrome. HOW IS THE PAINT? Looks about 80% original to me. It is not perfect, it has touched up chips and faded dull places. The paint looks much better in the pictures than if you were here to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW IS THE CHROME? It all looks original and decent, I see a couple of dings. Like the paint it looks better in pictures than in person. HOW IS THE GLASS? Nice glass, the side glass rolls up and down good.NEW MUFFLER AND TAIL PIPE! HEAD LIGHTS WORK! TAIL LIGHTS WORK! BRAKE LIGHTS WORK! FOG LIGHTS WORK! SPOT LIGHTS WORK! SPEEDOMETER WORK! RADIO does not work! WHERE IS THE CAR LOCATED? Athens, Tennessee 37303 BOTTOM LINE: This is a good running, solid car in my opinion. In my opinion it is very solid, thing work on it, paint is weak. It is priced very good, I think its a bargain. PAINT IS NOT AS GOOD AS THE PICTURES, BUT THE BODY IS VERY SOLID!
