Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a one owner barn find 1970 fastback 302 automatic, power steering, power disc brakes and air conditioning. I found this car locally in a barn with only the rear partially exposed to the elements. It had been parked there since at least 2000. The original owner advised that she bought the car brand new at Costner Eagleton Ford and rarely drove it except around town and to work a few times in Knoxville. She advised that the car was placed in the barn when the transmission started acting up and was left there. Upon purchasing the car i filled the cylinders with transmission fluid to try and free it up with no success. At that point the drivetrain was pulled and everything rebuilt. the engine was bored .30 and rebuilt in a local shop as was the transmission with torque converter, carburetor, brakes and new 2.25 pipes and flowmasters.. A new fuel tank and radiator were installed also and there are 0 miles on the rebuild, only break in and changed the break in oil and filter. The interior has one seam coming apart on the drivers side and the speaker area of the dash pad is sunken a little. All gauges work except fuel and temp. The owner had a tape deck installed back when cassettes were popular but kept the original radio. The absolute worst part on the body is the trunk lid. Where what little rain got to it that did, it gathered in the corner and two rust holes can be seen from the back surface of the deck lid. A family member sanded and shot a coat of enamel on the car in the late 80's with no bodywork being done. There were of course door dings and a few scratches but the body is amazing. I sanded the paint and clear coated and buffed it to preserve and not drastically alter the body or appearance. Also I wire brushed the entire underside of the car and undercoated it. Basically what you see is what you get an all but rust free 1970 fastback in almost original patina. I have the original yellow title and registration from Dec 5, 1969. Along with the owners manual and bank paperwork from the Bank of Maryville Dec 5, 1969. There is also a duplicate yellow title so the new owner can keep one for history on the car. It will need tires as I did not spend money on new wheels and tires so the new owner can purchase to their taste in wheels. Good luck and happy bidding on this once in a lifetime find. Please no bidding if you have low or no feedback or negative feedback or no pays. item is as is pick up only after payment clears. Thank You.
