1997Mercury Grand Marquis needs some work. This car has been sitting for 8 months without being driven. So I charged it up and started it and backed on to the street to drive it. When I put it in forward the car did not move. After playing around with it putting it in and out of gear it finally caught and I pulled it back into the driveway. The transmission was fin when I parked it 8 months ago but now was slipping. I don't know if it will go forward again or not. In any case it needs transmission work now. So it may not be driveable right now.The engine starts right up and runs great. I was asking 1200 but have now dropped the price to $650.00 or highest bidder. I like to work on my cars but can no longer do this due to health problems so I am selling it. This car has 117k miles which is not much for these cars. Big comfortable ride. Leather interior is immaculate. Paint needs buffed out as the clear coat is peeling. I will list all the other little items that need attention that I know of. Headliner needs to be glued back into place a it is coming off.The back windows stick.A/C never worked since I owned it so I replaced compressor with a pulley unit to improve gas mileage.Passenger door needs new pin.Gas gauge doesn't work.slow brake fluid leak but brakes worked fine when I drove it last. Had new front pads about 2k miles ago.All 4 tires are fair condition. Full payment is due and car must be picked up within 7 days of sale. I will assist to get it transported as best I can but am in wheelchair so can't do much so you are responsible for picking up the vehicle.
