Vehicle Detail

With great sadness I am selling my 2012 Signature Red Model S Signature Performance in extraordinary condition. It has been replaced by a new P100D. This is one of only a few hundred signature red Model S's in the country as this color was only available on the first 1,000 Model S's produced. It also has the nicely textured lacewood interior trim, which is no longer available. This was number 593 off the line, delivered to me in November 2012 for $108,070 + tax & registration. PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE OTHER MODEL S's BEING FALSELY ADVERTISED ON EBAY AS "SIGNATURE" MODELS. UNLESS THE LAST LETTER IN THE VIN IS AN "S", IT IS NOT A SIGNATURE. IF THE LAST LETTER IS A "P", THAT IS A STANDARD PRODUCTION MODEL. THE SIGNATURES CAME WITH EVERY OPTION AVAILABLE AT THE TIME. As an early adopter, my pain is your gain - over time virtually every component (except the battery pack) of the car has been replaced including the door handles, the touch screen, the aluminum trim around the touch screen, the air vent louvers, the electric motor, right and left rear axles, windshield, 12v battery, parcel shelf, hatchback speaker grille, etc. All has been covered under warranty, which has been extended (transferable) to May 2019 or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. It has been serviced regularly and is in virtually perfect driving and cosmetic condition. Note that this is one of the first Model S's produced. It does NOT have AWD, autonomous driving features of any sort, parking sensors, or auto-retracting mirrors. It does have dual chargers (can charge at 72 amps), free supercharger for life, commercial free Slacker streaming, studio sound, pano sun roof, aftermarket coordinated leather front center console (~$1,500), heated front seats, etc. It's an awesome, fast, nice handling, beautiful electric car. For full disclosure, I have been in two minor accidents with the car, neither resulting in any frame or other major damage. Both were repaired at one of the couple authorized Tesla body shops in the LA area. In the first, the front bumper and black plastic grille (underneath the nose) were replaced. In the second, damage included a broken passenger mirror as well as scraping and denting along much of the passenger side of the car. This resulted in a new mirror, new front quarter panel, new passenger door panels, assorted other body parts and new paint. To my knowledge there is no bondo or other fillers anywhere. The latest body work has a five year warranty from the shop. There is no evidence of any damage anywhere on the car. Also, I just got an e-mail from Tesla saying that all 2012 Tesla's will be recalled for the Takata airbag issue. Tesla has not had problems with the airbags (though other car manufacturers have) but in an abundance of caution they have decided to recall and replace all the front airbags. I have not received the official recall notice - but know that it is coming. The car is located in Pasadena, CA. Any non-local buyer will have to arrange shipping to your location. This is a beautiful, rare, perfectly running car with about 2 1/2 years or 38,000 miles of warranty left. The color is amazing (at least to me), and I still get compliments wherever I go.
