Vehicle must be paid for and picked up within three days of purchase!This is a good looking 2002 Ford Explorer XLS four wheel drive sport utility vehicle with a V6, 4.0 ltr engine, air conditioning, luggage rack, privacy glass, power windows and locks, cruise control, cloth seats, in a nice silver sage color. It has 162,386 miles. Recent oil change. This vehicle requires work to return to optimal performance, or used as a part-out vehicle. Not running, needs tow.We drove it home from purchase just fine, with knowledge that it needed transmission service only. The person we bought it from said it had been sitting for about a year. However it recently stopped running and will need towed and a mechanically inclined person to repair it. Here are the issues:*Battery is being drained for some reason. Auto Zone ran a diagnostic and said the electrical system is functioning. We do not know what is draining the battery. Battery is new from Wal-Mart, with receipt provided. *It recently stopped running and the engine will not turn over. The tow truck driver said it sounds like the fuel pump went out. Probably from it sitting so long, and it was low on gas. *It hesitates to shift from second to third gear and you must let up off gas to get it to shift properly.The person we purchased it from said it is because the transmission needs serviced. The transmission is an internally serviced system. Grease Monkey and Meinieke did not have the adapter to service the transmission for us, so it needs a full-service center or dealership. *A dash light is on regarding the parking brake. Previous owner said it goes off after service.*One of the door handles is broken and will not open. Parts can be obtained very inexpensive through a place like "Pull and Pay". *One tire is a spare. The original tire needs plugged and it is in the back of the vehicle. *Small cracks in bumpers. Regular wear and tear. Upholstery has some slight damage and needs cleaned.Clear title.
