Up for sale is my 1974 BMW 2002tii. It caught fire at a stoplight 2 months ago and I have decided to sell it. It needs to be sorted out and I have purchased almost everything needed to get her back on the road. I have had this car for a year and have been doing a rolling restoration. It is a very dry, minimal rust California tii with one respray over its original silver paint. It was running extremely well. always started, plenty of power, nice idle, solid transmission, rear end, etc. I have completed the following: New brake rotors and pads up front, shoes and drums in the rear.New Bilstein struts and shocks with strut mounts.New lowering springs and spring rubbersNew shifter bushingsNew Minilite replicas and tires. 15"Tune up. I was at a stop light and the motor quit. A very strong smell of gas became evident. I got out to investigate and saw flames under the car where a pool of gas had gathered from a ruptured fuel line. As I was dialing 911 a person approached with a fire extinguisher and we put the fire out rather quickly. My first reaction was to purchase everything needed to fix this beautiful car. I Acquired the following: New Fuel lines for the Kulgerfischer pump, new spark plug wires, new coil, new air cleaner and bellows, new oem grills (left and right), wiring harness, new oem battery cables, plastic pump drive covers, thermostat housing, new complete stainless steel exhaust system, and a ton more. I have realized that I do not have the time for this project. The car is very solid, tight, and very well preserved. It deserves to be put back on the road. The only rust to speak of is a few spots in the spare tire well. Everywhere else is solid and straight. The electrical system still works. I have purchased a complete wiring harness to have everything needed to correct the burnt wires at the front of the car. I have 2 jobs and realized that I do not have time to fix this car. Help! Someone could clean and fix with the engine in the car or pull the motor and make the car sparkle. I have a ton of pictures and will gladly accept phone calls. Please have all of your questions answered before you bid. The car rolls and stops but the motor will not start. It will turn over.
