Vehicle Detail

-It’s finally time to part ways with my 1996 Volvo 850R wagon. The car has 183,000 miles on it and good mechanical condition considering its age and mileage. The car has had regular service at a respectable garage in our area and all the records of said maintenance are available. The car is mostly stock. Modest upgrades include Samco Silicon turbo piping, vacuum lines, and elbows, VDO boost gauge, two ECU’s (one stock 850R unit and one 850R unit flashed by Speedtuning that raises boost to 15-17psi without any problems, just a slight drop in fuel economy), the upgraded CBV kit from IPD and HD end links. The end link on the passenger’s side is starting to make a bit of a clunking noise and should be replaced. I replaced the suspension with Bilstein touring shocks, struts, and mounts at 135,000 miles. Mechanically the car is in good shape, compression is around 156 psi in all 5 cylinders ~7psi variance. Regular oil changes and semi-regular transmission flushes (this car was my baby and I treated her as such), as well as all regular maintenance as I mentioned before. As is common with these cars, there is a slow leak in the evaporator for the AC system, but I’ve found that by having the system evacuated and recharged in the spring, kept the AC cold until fall (which is just fine for living in the northeast). Of course, replacing the evaporator would fix this. The suspension is also in good shape, with the exception of the passenger’s side endlink upgrade, which clunks slightly at full lock. Additionally, the top motor mount is deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Cosmetically, as you can see from the pictures, the car is showing its age: the paint on the hood and the roof has received sun damage to the clear coat, some small road debris damage to the front of the hood (pretty normal I’d say). The car was clipped over the winter causing damage to the driver’s side turn signal and a bit to the quarter panel surrounding it (also see pictures). There is some rust bubbling on one of the wheel arches, and various dings and scratches. The turn signal was replaced with a stock one I had (the passenger's side is an e-code lens). The interior has all the original pieces from the R body style and is all in good condition, with some wear to the lower right bolster on the driver’s seat, which can probably be restored with some TLC. I have two sets of wheels for the car; 5 Cetus with 4 General Artic snow tires with an average of 10/32's tread depth remaining, and 4 original Titans with Bridgestone Potenza RE 760 Sport Tires with an average of 7/32's tread depth remaining. Titans will not be included with the car if the price does not reach $2,500. Look at the photos and if there is anything else you want closer detail on please don’t hesitate to ask. This is a great car and I’d really like to see it go to a good home where someone will give her the attention it deserves, or at least drive the snot out of it. Car is for sale locally, I reserve the right to terminate the auction at any time.
