Vehicle Detail

Ah, if only I had more time! This is a nice running 1995 Mark VIII that needs a bit of work. It's a deep blue with a light interior. It's really quite the lovely car. It drives well and doesn't seem to have any obvious mechanical issues, but it has some weirdness going on. If you're familiar with the Mark's, you'll know that having 280HP available from the 4.6L Ford 32 Valve engine is wonderful when you want to merge or get from point A to B rather quickly. The air suspension seems to work, unless somebody managed to switch it out, and the ride is comfortable yet controlled. The primary issue is electrical - the center information display, gas gauge, and radio don't work / get power. I'm relatively sure it's a relay / control module issue and I even went so far as to purchase some of these from another eBayer a while back. But, my plan was to work on the car when I visited Los Angeles (where it is located) and I haven't been able to visit in over a year due to some family health issues. So, it's sat. In addition, the previous owner was ... eccentric. He didn't like the grayish color on the steering wheel vinyl, so, after getting a black cover for the wheel, he COLORED IN the visible vinyl material on the center of the steering wheel. It doesn't look as bad as it sounds - not like he had his five-year-old do it, but it's not how the car is supposed to look. Most of his other "customizations" were simple enough to remove ... and I've done so already. I believe there's a tint on the back window that is a bit cloudy and should be taken off for best visibility. Despite being a very low miles car, the car obviously sat in the sun as the rear window has the lasagna-style seal from being in the heat. The car has some scratches - nothing major, but it's definitely been around the block a few times and was parked outside. It could use a solid detailing. The day I purchased it, the alternator was acting up and the tires were shot, so i replaced the alternator, battery, and all four tires which now have about 200 miles on them, if that. After that, I drove it up from San Diego and the car ran very well. The engine and transmission seem, at least to me, to run well and shift properly. The A/C and heat both work nicely, particularly in the LA heat. The interior is very clean (excepting the dang steering wheel), and I truly wish I had some time to work on this car and put it back into original condition. Again, includes some miscellaneous parts, one of which MAY fix the electrical issues, but no promises. Also includes a non-matching, but correctly-sized 255 60/16 Tire in the trunk with less than 100 miles on it. Please, no tire-kickers. Bid seriously for a car that is likely to run for another 20 years. You are welcome to contact me if you'd like to examine the car or send a mechanic by to check it out. I'm selling it as-is, so please check it out before you bid if you're concerned. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of purchase and people with less than 10 feedback or recent negative feedback will have their bids canceled at my discretion. Balance is due, and the car must be picked up, within seven (7) days unless we discuss it before bidding ends and come to another arrangement. On Nov-19-16 at 17:42:10 PST, seller added the following information: For sale locally as well - I reserve the right to end this listing early for local sale.
