Vehicle Detail
Good, solid ride, just not my cup of tea. If you’re into the old GS models and a little handy, this could be your bike. There are currently no mechanical issues. NO WARRANTEE express or implied. I put on about 4,000 miles over the last 2 ½ years mostly when my sport tourer was in the shop but also to keep it fresh. Few specs of cosmetic rust. Wiring loom is a little haggard. Few minor scratches. There is a hairline crack in the mount on the left panier courtesy of me forgetting to latch the case. It has never worsened and I have packed the panier many times. Tires are about 1\2. Purchased from Bob’s BMW in 2014 with 34,485 miles with a steady history of required service at Bob’s. I have never had the bike off road or dropped it. Always garaged at home and at work. Always stuck to the maintenance schedule. The bike has new fluids, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and lines, spark plugs, pads (front and back). New battery. Factory heated grips, power port, ABS, Brembo brakes, skid and road bash plates, hand guards, side cases keyed to match, tail mount for the top case but no top case, cylinder guards and center stand of course, Touratech bar risers (not installed). Additional items: SARGENT SEAT!!! with storage container (You can have the OEM seat if you really want it.), ZTech wind screen, screw down cruise control, PIAA driving lights, Remus collector and exhaust and yes, metal fuel line quick disconnects. 2 keys. Factory toolkit but no manual. I’ll supply the Clymer manual which is way better. Fresh throttle body and timing sync. Recent work: paralever refurbished with new seals and bearings, NEW CLUTCH!!! and new transmission input shaft and related seals and gaskets professionally installed. Spline and drive shaft also lubed at this time. If you know these bikes, you know that if you are running around on a 10+ y\o boxer and you haven’t lubed the splines and input shaft, you have a problem waiting to happen. This was done in spring, 2015 with hardly any miles since then.
