THIS AUCTION IS FOR A RARE 1998 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LIMITED 5.9. THESE JEEPS ARE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND. THEY WERE ONLY PRODUCED WITH THE POWERFUL 5.9 ENGINE IN 1998. IT WAS ALSO THE LAST YEAR OF THE ZJ BODY STYLE BEFORE THEY SWITCHED TO THE WJ. THESE JEEPS WERE TOUTED AS BEING THE FASTEST SUV IN THE COUNTRY WHEN NEW. FEWER THAN 15,000 OF THESE JEEPS WERE EVER PRODUCED. THE 5.9 ENGINE WAS RATED AT 245 HORSEPOWER AND WOULD DO 0 TO 60 IN 6.8 SECONDS. IT WAS ALSO NAMED 4X4 OF THE YEAR FOR 1998 BY PETERSON'S OFF ROAD MAGAZINE. The 5.9 jeep grand Cherokee included a number of improvements over the top of the line "limited" Grand Cherokee, that were unique to the 5.9. This included, in addition to the premium motor, all the options found on the limited edition, in addition to: a higher output alternator revised low profile roof racks (used on the next generation) unique wood grain accents full calf leather interior chrome tipped exhaust unique front grille unique side rocker panels fully functional heat extracting hood louvers rear leather arm rest higher output infinitity premium stereo system with trunk speakers bar leather wrapped shift and e-brake handles unique leather door inserts, armrests and console lid. unique five star wheels THE INTERIOR IS IN GOOD CONDITION. NO RIPS OR MAJOR STAINS. IT COMES EQUIPPED WITH WORKING POWER WINDOWS, POWER DOOR LOCKS, SUNROOF, POWER SEATS, AND VIPER LONG RANGE REMOTE START AND ALARM. THE A/C BLOWS ICE COLD AND THE HEAT IS HOT. HAS TOWING PACKAGE. RECENT REPAIRS ALSO INCLUDE A NEW POWER STEERING PUMP. THIS JEEP RUNS AND DRIVES AS IT SHOULD. WITH NO OVERHEATING AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SMOOTHLY. HAS NEWER RAYBESTOS BRAKES AND TIRES AND SHOCKS. IT IS FAST AND IT IS A BEAST..........GREAT FOR WINTER!! NEVER GET STUCK AND ALWAYS START IN THE COLDEST OF WINTERS. THE THINGS THAT ARE WRONG: REAR WINDOW WIPER IS INOP. (MAYBE JUST A FUSE) SEAT WARMER DOESN'T WORK. REAR BUMBER COVER ON CORNER IS SLIGHTLY PUSHED IN. RADIO RECEPTION ON AM IS A LITTLE SCRATCHY. (MAYBE BAD CONNECTION) THE LOW COOLANT LIGHT COMES ON FROM TIME TO TIME. THE COOLANT IS FULL AND IT IS NOT LEAKING OR USING ANY. I REPLACED THE SENSOR WITH A CHEAP AFTERMARKET BUT IT STILL COMES ON AND OFF. I'M TOLD THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH JEEPS OF THIS ERA AND THERE IS A WIRE THAT NEED TO BE SOLDERED TO FIX IT. THIS JEEP IS IN GOOD MECHANICAL AND COSMETIC SHAPE. THE PAINT SHINES GREAT AND IS ORIGINAL.
