Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a real PHS documented 4 Speed GTO. I found this car early this summer. The car hasn't seen the light of day since 1978 and is a true time capsule. The car does run and has the original numbers matching WT engine. While on jack stands I also went through all the gears including reverse with no issues or funny noises from the transmission or rear end. According to the numbers the original transmission was replaced with a all aluminum close ratio T10 from a 1961 Corvette (T10-1C) and the rear axle was replaced with a 12 bolt out of a 1967 Chevelle (N 3894939) By no means is this car road worthy, besides sitting for 38 years it is a northern car so it will need floor and trunk pans, brake and fuel line etc. But it is a real period correct muscle car. According to the PHS documents the only options the car came with werePushbutton Radio with Manual AntennaRear Seat SpeakerRetractable Headlamp CoversHood Mounted TachometerRally II WheelsElectric ClockDual Exhaust ExtensionsRally Gauge ClusterG 70x14 Red Wide Oval TiresFeel free to message me with questions or if you would like to call or schedule a viewing of the car. (Dealer # 197) Knafel Pontiac sponsored more cars and won more races and championships than any other Pontiac dealer in the country. Beginning in 1959 and continuing through 1971 Knafel Pontiac and its predecessor Bill Knafel's Anderson Pontiac sponsored over 40 Pontiacs that won hundreds if not thousands of races including numerous regional and national championships. Many of their cars were also national record holders
