Up for auction is my 1983 Jeep CJ7 Renegade. this is a very solid, mostly original Jeep. It still sports the original paint and graphics which has some fading and scratches that gives it a cool patina finish. The body has no cancerous rust, only a few spots that has some surface rust where the paint is missing. I found this Jeep in the dry central Washington wheatlands where it had been stored for the past 12 years. The previous owner had installed a front shackle reverse kit with quick release sway bar and rear lift shackles to give it a subtle lift to clear the 33" tires. He also installed a Warn full-floating rear axle kit with locking rear hubs, a 20 gallon poly fuel tank to replace the 15 gallon factory tank, a locking center console and locking hood latch. It has the original 258 in-line 6 cylinder motor, T176 manual 4 speed transmission and the Dana 300 transfer case. The rear axle is the AMC 20 and the front is the Dana 30. I dropped the fuel tank and cleaned it and the fuel lines. The original carb has been replaced with a Holley 2 barrel and a set of headers with full dual exhaust out the rear has also been added. It also has a new starter installed. The Jeep runs great with plenty of power. The transmission shifts smoothly with a tight clutch and the transfer case engages properly. There is disk brakes up front however there is no power brakes or power steering. The soft top and soft doors show there age. The passenger side window has a split in it in the bottom corner and the passenger door window has come unstitched. The interior is in great shape for a 33 year old Jeep. the original drivers seat has been recovered at some point. The other factory seats are in good shape and appear to have originally been brown and at some point they were painted or dyed black. You can see the brown showing through in areas where the black has worn off. The roll bar is covered in a black vinyl pad kit. I had a new windshield installed also. The original temp and fuel gauges seem to have a short in them causing them to fluctuate and not read properly most of the time. there is a stereo installed in the dash with dash speakers and speakers mounted in aftermarket pods in the rear. The stereo does not operate for unknown reasons. All the exterior lights work and so does the heater. It does need a new set of wiper blades. This is an awesome original looking renegade that is in great condition. One thing this Jeep does need is a set of new tires. The ones on it now were on there when it was stored for 12 years and now have weather cracking between the treads and seem to be out of round which you can feel while driving it. I feel as though the new owner would prefer to choose their own tires to put on it and therefore I haven't replaced them. I have a free and clear Washington state title ready to sign over to the new owner. Please ask any and all questions you may have. This Jeep is sold as-is and where-is.
