893 orginal miles, one owner, documents from new, freshly serviced. You will not find a nicer example of this bike, unless one still exists somewhere in an original factory crate and has never ben put into service. In my opinion, the early (2001-2004) GSX-R1000 bikes make better street bikes than the later models and the 2003/2004 bikes have some nice improvements over the 2001/2002 models, while retaining the great low end torque and light weight that disappeared with the later bikes. In addition, this color scheme is probably the nicest of all of the early color schemes. Personal preference, perhaps, but I'd encourage any buyer to research these things themselves. History: This bike was purchased from Altitude Motorsports, the Suzuki dealer in Breckinridge, Colorado, on November 6, 2004. It has been kept as part of a private Suzuki sportbike collection in Colorado since. It has been used sparingly during the summer months and properly stored when not in use. It has seen regular service, in spite of the low mileage. It has never seen rain or water and has not needed any warranty work. The fuel used in the bike has not had ethanol used in it. The battery has been kept charged with a Battery Tender Junior, whch will be included with the bike. Modifications: The front fork has been re-valved and the oil has been replaced by Silkolene 5W fork oil. A valving sheet is available. The muffler has been replaced with a Yoshimura RS-3 bolt-on. The original battery was replaced a few years ago and the tires and front brake lines have been replaced twice, due to age. Apart from those changes, it is stock. A pair of rear stand spools were installed for allowing the bike to be supported on a rear swingarm stand for service work. Those will be included with the bike, if the buyer wants them. Recent Service Work: Recent service work includes an oil and filter change, brake fluid flush and bleed, engine coolant change, clutch free play adjustment, and new tires. The fluids and filter used were from Suzuki. The tires are new Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier 2, in the stock sizes. The fuel tank has been drained for shipment. The fuel tank is absolutely immaculate inside, as can be seen form the photo taken of the inside of the tank and the fuel pump. The chain has been cleaned, oiled and adjusted. The new tires now on the bike have zero miles on them. All of the bodywork has been removed, waxed and reinstalled. When this bike was last serviced, in excess of 50 hours was spent to check and clean thngs that are normally not cleaned or checked in a typical dealer service. There are many places on a bike that tend to collect road dust and grime, or chain lubricant, etc. and those areas are hard to clean. Most people ignore them; on this bike they have all been attended to. It is as clean underneath as it is on top. As mentioned, it has never been washed with a hose, as that tends to allow water to get into areas that don't dry out readly, which leads to corrosion of the facteners and other metal parts. All of the service work that has been done to the bike has been done by a professional mechanic, using only Suzuki parts and fluids and every fastener has been torqued to the specs in the service manual. The work that has been done is of a higher standard than what you would recieve in a Suzuki dealership. What is included with the bike: Original sales agreement, original bill of sale, original odometer statement, assorted related documents from the original sale, a clear Colorado title, two original keys with the key number tag, original tool kit (unused), original owner's manual, rear passenger seat (unused), factory servce manual, Ohlins fork revalving specifcation sheet, a Battery Tender Junior and related wiring harness. Shipping: The buyer is responsible for all shipping arrangements and costs, or the buyer may pick up the bike in person, in Tulsa Oklahoma. I am willing to meet with the buyer's shipping company to facilitate the collection of the bike. If LTL freight shipping is desired, I can make arrangements to have a shipping crate made, for either domestic or international shipping, at the buyer's expense. I can also make arrangements to pack the bike into a crate and deliver the crated bike to a shipping broker for pick-up by an LTL freght company, again at the buyer's expense. A quick Google search will find dozens of companies that ship motorcycles. One company, at www.haulbikes.com, will deliver any bike to any destination in the country for $450. I do not recommend using U-ship, as they are nothing more than a broker ad they do not vet any of the shippers that they will award a contract to. Payment and Paperwork: Payment will be by bank wire transfer, according to the terms below. Upon receipt of payment in full, I will execute the title as directed by the buyer and deliver it to the buyer by overnight mail. Once the title is transferred to the buyer, the buyer is responsible for carrying insurance against risk of loss. I am willing to allow the biker to be stored for a reasonable period of time, while the shipping arrangements are made. Regardless of the shipping arrangements desired by the buyer, the payment must be made according to the terms herein. I reserve the right to end the auction early, before the reserve price is met, as I have this bike listed for sale locally and there are local buyers that have expressed an interest in buying it.
