2000 Volkswagen Passat GLS Manual 5-Speed 1.8 Turbo 180K miles NO RESERVE !! I am the 3rd owner of this southern car. It drives great with no mechanical issues at all and has been my daily driver for the last 2 years. The clutch is really very smooth and shifts nicely. The turbo makes this car pretty peppy and it has great handling. Front-wheel drive. Gas mileage is excellent! I have gotten between 25-30mpg. This car is the same as the Audi A4 under the hood. The body and underbody are in excellent condition with no rust. Interior has normal wear for it's age, like the upholstery is loose near arm rests, but it is otherwise clean and has not been smoked in. The only real problem is that the speedometer needle would stop working sporadically and now rarely works, however this is just a minor issue and isn't required for inspection. It is NYS inspected through January 2017 as well. I just changed the spark plugs and recently have done brakes, calipers, new cat converter, new front axle. Water pump and timing chain were replaced around 90k. The previous owner who I bought it from was a licensed mechanic. A/C is not working. Stereo, speakers, sunroof, windows, all power items work and the battery is good. The sound system is impressive, there is tape deck and also a 5-disc CD changer in the trunk. Tires still have fair tread, the front driver's side has a slow leak and needs to be filled about once a week, or there is a full size, like-new spare in the trunk that it could be swapped out with. This car is very roomy and the seats are comfortable with lumbar support. The back seats fold down which is a huge feature for moving things. It would make a great first car or winter car. It is really ready to go anywhere.
